I will not buy Zojrushi products again.

I love the fact that it takes regular size ice cubes with no problem fitting them through the opening.

I bought this because I wanted something with a small profile that was totally leakproof and vacumn insulated. We all know the quality of vacumn insulation varies widely, so that remained a question mark until my mugs arrived. They literally do not let heat or cold escape, and will keep your coffee piping hot for hours, and your iced drink cold for longer than immaginable. I have tilted it, laid it on it's side, put scalding hot beverage in it and then put ice cubes in and it simply does not leak. At something just short of 7" tall it takes up very little room in a backpack or purse. There is little storage area under the top of the cap, which is big enough to hold a packet of sugar or splenda for your next hot cup. I love the fact that it takes regular size ice cubes with no problem fitting them through the opening.

I received this mug as a gift and it's been wonderful. It's very simply designed but does its job to perfection. There's just a screw top lid with a small compartment for a tea bag, sugar packet, or what have you. It keeps my tea piping hot for hours on end. The wide mouth is bonus for me because it makes it easier to blow on my drink to cool it before I take a sip. Also it makes it easier to drink from. I tend to have trouble with the common "sip-mouthed" coffee mugs that you find sold in every coffee shop. I take a sip and the coffee will somehow run down the side of the mug and stain my papers.

I've seen the Zojirushi Tuff Slim and I actually prefer this mug's shorter stature. It's a little "chubby" (or wide), but definitely fits comfortably in a tote. I've never experienced a leak and I've put it in my purse a time or two.

I own both the Tuff Mug and the Tuff Slim and tend to find myself using the mug more often. It is easy to drink out of and the size and shape are comfortable (and cute). The storage compartment on the lid easily holds two bags of PG Tips tea. The care instructions warn against storing soup or other salty liquid in either of these bottles because the salt may promote rust (despite the nonstick coating and stainless steel construction). They also warn against storing dairy or fresh juice because "quality may deteriorate over time" and because gas may build up and splash out under pressure. Read the manuals for yourself at the Zojirushi web site. Mug is SM-ABE35 and Slim is SV-GEE50. [...]

I bought this based on the reviews and the title. This is a thermos but is not a mug - it does not include anything to drink from and the lid does not open like your standard insulated coffee mug to let you drink directly from it.

It does do a great job of keeping your liquid hot and we decided to keep it for hiking etc. But it's not something you use for your commute to work.

This mug will keep it's contents hot or cold for several hours. It's well made and overall I am only somewhat pleased with it. It's lacking in a few key areas.

The mug is tiny and has no kind of pouring spout so you need to fully remove the lid to sip from it and even then it's really not designed to drink directly from. The top of the mug comes apart into several difficult to clean pieces. I found the top storage to be too small to store anything useful such as cream for your coffee. It's really no more durable than any other mug on the market, not sure why they've chosen to call it a "tuff" mug.

Drinking from something like this in the car is difficult. If you plan on filling it with something delicious then driving to work and enjoying it at your desk then this is for you.

For the money I expected more.

The ZOJIRUSHI TUFF MUG looks smaller than the one I have, that's about [...] and has a handle, but it actually holds the same amount of liquid (about 2-cups or 16-ounces filled to the brim with no ice).

It's about 6 3/4" tall, with the lid on, and the lid has a small compartment for herbs, tea or sugar.

The only thing I don't like is the lip of the mug has no cover like my old one does. It's just metal or whatever that metallic outer shell is made of and I just have to get used to it.

But it does keep drinks colder/hotter than a regular cup. I also noticed that the this is made in Thailand and not Japan like my old cup was.

My only complaint about this product is the size. It is quite small, and will not work well for heavy coffee drinkers, unless you've got access to your brewing station all day. For $25 I would expect something a little bigger, but it's still easily the best travel mug I have owned.

It does fit under my Keurig brewer, and one Keurig "big cup" fills the Tuff Mug about 3/4 full.

I am very impressed with how long it keeps coffee hot--hours. The lid is secure and I do not worry about carrying it, upright, in my purse. I find that it's easy to wash, and the lid/little storage area is cute.

Unless I am completely missing something, there's no collapsible handle as stated on the product description, but I'm not sure why a person would need one for a mug this size.

Although this mug does a good job retaining heat, the fluorine nonstick coating stains easily and is very difficult to clean. A week of green tea use seems to have left permanent stains inside the mug. I rinse it daily but that does not seem to help. The inside should not be scoured because of the non-stick coating and that makes it virtually impossible to keep clean. My wife has an all-stainless steel Tiger (another Japanese brand) mug that is just as effective at retaining heat but much easier to clean. Unfortunately, it is no longer available.
