The best part is that after you freeze the zoku for 24 hours in your freezer, you can just make yourself a popsicle anytime you want.

I wanted this pop maker for awhile and my hubby got it for me for Christmas. It works well if you follow the directions. We got it from WS as it was not offered by amazon at the time. I read the rant review and found a lot of the information he/she wrote inaccurate. First, the pop maker doesn't take 30 min. to make a set of pops. You are looking at anywhere between 6-10 minutes per set. Make sure your pop maker is frozen....I know, if it's your first time using it, it's tempting to stick it in the freezer for 5 hours and later that day try to make them. The maker needs to be in the freezer for about a full day before it is ready to use. Using it before it is totally frozen will end up being frustrating. Second, make sure you do not overfill the pops or they are a pain/next to impossible to get out. Even just a little over the fill line will leave you praying that you'll be able to get them out without breaking the sticks. Making the pops with different colors is easy. I don't know why the other reviewer made it sound so hard. You pour in a little of one color, let it sit for maybe 30 seconds and then pour in your next color (repeat if doing more than two layers)...very, very easy....my little girls do it by themselves. The other negative review kept bringing up the pain of having to keep the unit frozen all the time and the space it takes up in the freezer. The thing is small and narrow and is no big deal in terms of the space it takes up (about the size of a small loaf of raisin bread).

When my pop maker is fully frozen, I can get three batches of pops (nine) out before having to wash and re-freeze it. With that said, obviously each subsequent batch is going to take longer than the one before it because the unit is not as cold. Second batch usually takes about 15 min.

when i saw this last year in a williams sonoma catalog i was interested in it but the reviews at the time were iffy. i visited brookstone this weekend and saw it sitting on the shelf. i figured why not give it a try. I AM SO GLAD we bought it! this thing ROCKS. i also bought the zoku pop book since i wanted pops with enough sugar content so they wouldn't stick to the mold. i had NO problems on my first try making pops (i was nervous due to some reviews about it). they came out perfectly and tasted delicious (not as sweet as i thought it would be.. a good thing)! we made the orange/cream core pops (posted some pics). my husband was in awe how quickly the pops were made. and i'm surprised HOW frozen they were. they were ROCK hard after 7mins. i found out later that zoku posted some free recipes on their blog. you might want to check it out if you are having a hard time finding some recipes. now i want the accessory kit :oD .

what i love about it the most, after you use it you can put it RIGHT back in the freezer without washing it, since the liquid pops off with the pop. in fact, the instructions tell you it's best not to wash it after each use.. just pop it back in the freezer, then you are ready to make more. the only thing i wish i could change is hand washing the popsicle sticks. i don't mind washing by hand but it's easier (for me) to just throw them in the dishwasher. even though replacement sticks are affordable i don't want to risk it. i will just stick with hand washing them. the size of the container is a great size. it's the size of most popsicle boxes. for me that means it doesn't take up a large amount of freezer space to make sure my zoku is ready to go anytime i want it. love love love! i also have an ice cream maker bowl in there (ready anytime i need it) and it takes up more space than the zoku does.

Color Name: WhiteSize Name: Duo
When I first got the Duo, I was really excited to try it out, because I had seen pictures of the pops that it made and I thought they looked fantastic. I didn't think I could make something at home that looked so much better than anything I could get at the store. Of course, my kids were excited about it, too, and had lots of ideas that they want to try out with it.

It's actually very easy to make the pops and Zoku has really thought this out to make it as simple as possible. What you do is freeze the main unit for 24 hours and then take it out and put the sticks in that come with it and then pour in your juice or whatever you want to make your pops with. You don't want to add liquids with artificial sweeteners or just plain water because there needs to be some sugar content so the pops remove easily. We just waited for seven minutes for them to freeze (no electricity needed!) and then we used the handy little tool that comes with it to remove the pops. At that point we immediately made another batch and it stayed cold and easily froze all four pops for us. We used Juicy Juice because I like that it doesn't have any sugar in it, but still has fruit sugars so it worked great. We've even started experimenting with striped pops and other fun ideas.

One nice thing about the Zoku Duo is it's compact size. I know people don't want another big appliance to put on their counter, but this one doesn't take up much space at all. Plus, they suggest that you just leave it in your freezer when it's not in use, so it's always ready to go. I know we are going to be getting a ton of use out of this sweet little pop maker!
