I was worried about the low stars reviews for this solo pop maker unit, until I noticed (under comment section of review) the seller offering to replace a unit not even purchased from them!
This gadget works great & looks adorable. You must follow the directions, letting unit freeze for min 24 hours, and inserting sticks BEFORE filling w/ juice etc. This method prevents you from over filling unit thus making pops hard to remove.
I've experimented so far w/ almond milk, diluted greek yogurt, reg yogurt, tangerine juice w/ great success. I did have trouble removing a pop that had too much bourbon vanilla extract because of the alcohol content. Too much fat, sugar or alcohol will take longer to freeze or prevent pops from freezing at all.
It's really helpful to look at the zoku blog to get a handle on what ratio of ingredients work the best.
Highly recommended with the caveat of, unless you live solo, upgrade to the 2 or 3 pop maker that way no one has to wait!
I think we're going to break down & buy the freezer storage case & extra sticks so we can have some on hand as summer heats up.

Very minor cons---the plastic stick is large, as an adult I feel a little goofy holding it, and the pops themselves are small. I find putting this unit back in the freezer after filled yields a pop in 7 mins, on the counter it's more like 12.

5.0 out of 5 stars Instant frozen juicesicles, yum June 19, 2012

I froze the unit for only 12 hours and poured in room temperature juice and my granddaughter had a frozen pop in 5 minutes. Quick and somewhat healthy sweet treat. I did rinse out unit, dry it upside down, and wait for it to completely thaw (to insure no condensed water inside pop chamber) prior to re-freezing. That took quite some time.

The manufacturer now needs to make a BIG container for wine slushies!!! By big I mean 2 bottle capacity, lol.

FYI, wine slushies, 2 bottles CHEAP wine, one can frozen juice concentrate (I like orange passion), 1/2 cup granulated sugar. Mix together the sugar and concentrate, add the wine, stir until dissolved, freeze for 24 hours. The alcohol doesn't completely freeze, but, reaches a slushie consistency. Dish out and re-freeze.

After a few years of admiring the original Zoku and the cute pops it makes in kitchen catalogs -and wondering what I would do with three popsicles, as I am a single person- I finally bought the Zoku Single Quick Pop Maker. It's less expensive, great for making one or two pops, and takes up very little space in my freezer. I just leave it in there and have pops whenever I want. The Single Pop Maker is 4.75 x 4.5 x 4.125 inches (12 x 11.5 x 10.5 cm) in size. The set includes 3 plastic popsicle sticks, 3 drip guards, 1 Super Tool for removing the popsicles, and 1 Zoku Single Quick Pop Maker in the box. One nice thing about the Single is that it is available in a variety of colors: red, blue, violet, orange (with golden yellow trim), and lime green (with bright yellow trim).

The Zoku is distinguished from other popsicle makers in that it makes "instant" pops. You don't have to wait 4 hours for your pops to freeze. You have only to wait 7-15 minutes, depending upon the ingredients and how cold the Zoku is. The quick freezing enables some creative possibilities that are difficult or impossible to achieve with conventional popsicle molds. You can do layered pops much faster than with conventional molds. But the most fun is sticking thin pieces of fruit to the sides of the mold, which will stay in place rather than fall to the bottom. This is decorative but can be used to add flavor and texture to the pops as well. You can also make flavored core pops, which involves sucking out the center of the pop when it is partially frozen and replacing it with a filling of your choice.

The Zoku is easy to use: Freeze it for at least 24 hours before you make your pops. Remove the Zoku from the freezer. Pour in your juice, yogurt, or popsicle recipe that you've made in advance up to the fill line.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun once you get the hang of it July 23, 2012
Color Name:Purple
The advantage of the Zoku single quick pop maker is that it doesn't take up as much space in the freezer as the larger models. There's a little bit of a learning curve to making the pops and I recommend either watching a youtube video on how it works and/or actually reading the manual (something I usually neglect to do). The Zoku blog has excellent recipes, but lazy person that I am, I usually just put in drinkable yogurt, a bottled smoothie or some juice. With the juice, I put in a drop of coconut milk to give it a little fat content so it will freeze better. The pop isn't that big, which is ok since that also means it has less calories than many commercial brands. This is a well-designed appliance that attractive and fun to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars These are so much FUN!!! November 2, 2012

We got our first Zoku Quick Pop Maker at the beginning of the summer and used it all summer long for visiting guests, family and ourselves! I even sent it on vacation with two little girls to enjoy at the beach! Their favorites were lemonade, which they made every day they were there! With other visitors we made some with strawberries and yogurt, or mango juice, blueberries....the sky is the limit with the concoctions you can put together. Yummy ever time! And the design is so cool, too.

1.0 out of 5 stars How can something that seems so simple be so unreliable?
It just does not work, consistently. Pick this up if you've got time in your life to be aggravated.
