At a glance this product looks and feel solid in your hand. The suction is pretty good and powerful, its strong enough to stick to your finger the same way a vaccum cleaner sticks to your hand. Unfortunately the accessories kill this aspirator, the silicon attachments werent designed to attach to the aspirator. You have to join them together by force and without a way to lock them in place all you can do is watch the silicon attachment separating itself slowly. Although the waste recovery is clear to let you see the mucus , the nose attachment isnt, and with its "frosted glass" finish you really cannot see inside the baby nostril and never tell if you are getting anything out> You will be simple blindly sucking air from your baby nose. After the first use, the attachment will get wet and will simply fall off the aspirator or stya stuck i the baby nose. You then have to get everything dry in order to be able to use it again. In the end, the complication of handling the attachment outweights the positive qualities of this product to the point that you end up set it aside and going back to usig the bulb syringe you got at the hospital.

We got this nasal aspirator for our newborn and we love it. Always screamed his head off when we used the manual aspirator. Doesn't seem to mind the battery operated one as much. Works great, just keep it cleaned out. It is really easy to clean. Also, we lost one of the soft flexible tips so I emailed Zoli and they sent me another one no charge!

We've used many different kinds of aspirators for our infant. We've used the hospital standard bulb, the Nosefrida, and the Piyo Piyo. They all have pluses and minuses, and each have their place. When I got a stomach bug, I didn't want to use the Nosefrida or Piyo Piyo for fear of making my wife or baby sick, and the bulb syringe wasn't working well. Thus, after reviewing the options, I bought the ZoLi on the basis of the reviews. It seemed like people generally liked it, aside from the usual few detractors. We've had it for about a week now, and I find myself puzzled to see how there could be so many positive reviews.

First, right out of the box, I put in some fresh batteries and pulled the trigger - nothing happened. After cycling the trigger switch about 20 times, the pump finally came on. It's probably just some oxidation on the switch contacts, but it's disheartening when it takes troubleshooting right out of the box. So anyway, the pump works, and putting my finger over the nozzle, it's clear that it will develop some suction. So far, so good? After cleaning the tip, the baby sounded snotty, so I thought I'd give it a try, and nothing. The pump whirred, and nothing came out of the baby. I then used the bulb syringe, and lots of snot came out. Over the last week, we've tried it on snot thick and thin to no avail.

After puzzling over this a while, I know why it doesn't work well. The pump is capable of creating a reasonable amount of suction, but is not capable of moving enough air volume to suck much snot out. Some reviewers have noted that it works best on very clogged noses - this is probably because the air passage is very small, and therefore the small volume of air moved by the pump is sufficient to pull snot.

I've tried them all and this one is just another one to add to the list but my son still hates it. Regular bulb syringe is most effective.
