quality of seeds,
This review is from: Zolushka Potato 50 Seeds - White Skin/White Flesh
I bought theses seeds - as well as many others - and they simply did not come up. I followed all instructions given for planting but had zero results. This was true of about 95% of all the seeds that I bought with these seeds. I live in an area where it is in the 60's at night and 80's during the day (year around). I am at 4,800 feet above sea level in the city of Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. The seeds were started in small cups in potting soil in my greenhouse under a very controlled condition.
The seeds were shipped to my Texas address and brought to my home in my auto. I say this so there is no miss-understanding that they were damaged via x-ray by way of a flight. It was a waste of time and money.

The potato seeds were planted in a row beside some seed potato's. The seed potato's are growing but the seeds refuse to grow. Looks like I am not the only one who had this problem with the potato seeds.

After reading the other reviews, I was wary about trying these seeds. However, I really wanted to find a source of seeds for potatos. I live in the desert southwest, and our growing seasons are 1/2 off of the rest of the world. When seed potatos are available, it's too late to plant them here. LOL, first 100 degree day (usually in April) the potato plants burn off at ground level!!!
I figured, the seeds are only $2.99, so if they don't grow I haven't lost much. To my great surprise, over half of the seeds have germinated!!! I planted two to a starter (25 total), and EVERY starter has at least one plant growing, many have two!!!! I have started so many, I'm not sure what to do with the extra seedlings!!! I'm anxious to see how well the plants continue to grow, and how many/large potatos grow!!!!

Though I live in the northeast where I can grow potatoes from tubers, I wanted to try growing potato seeds. Because potatoes are in the tomato family, I figured that I could grow potato seeds just like tomatoes which I sow indoors a couple months before planting outside. So I sowed them indoors in early March at the same time I sowed the tomatoes indoors. Almost every potato seed germinated! After about a month, I transplanted them into individual containers and grew them under lights and in a greenhouse (like the tomatoes). They grew faster than the tomatoes and were very vibrant and healthy. They were large enough to plant in mid April but it was too wet here to plant them at that time. I planted them on May 3 and they even had tiny potatoes growing on them! I will continue this review in September after harvest. And, I will compare them to the potatoes that I grew from tubers. I am continuing this review in December after harvesting Zolushka potatoes. Outside in the garden they grew inconsistently. Some plants grew large and out-lived all of the tuber planted potatoes. Other plants hardly grew. Potatoes were mostly small to medium, some with odd shapes. I had thought that seed planted potatoes would grow more uniformly. I would not plant them again because of the additional work to plant seeds indoors and grow seedlings did not yield a comparable or larger crop than my other tuber planted potatoes. If seed planted potatoes are your only option, they are worth it, though.

This is the first time I have purchased seed potatoes from this source. I have had the worst experience I have ever had buying something on line. Less that 10% germination rate. I am a teacher of Agriculture and have been growing potatoes for 30 years so it isn't as if I don't have some idea of what I am doing. This product was the WORST!!!!!
