Editorial Reviews

Zombie A-Hole takes place in a world that's a bit different from our own. A realm that teeters on the edge of sleaze and comic book stylized awesomeness. Its Planet Terror meets Sin City meets The Good The Bad & The Ugly. All the men are hard-asses, and all the women are bombshells. Just because vengeance is your way of life doesn't mean you can't look damn sexy while you dole out hearty doses of whoop-***. Everything is just a bit bigger and more interesting than their real life counterparts. This is a an exploitation flick with a southern gothic flair.

2.0 out of 5 stars Passable, but does not warrant a repeat viewing! April 18, 2013
The reviews given to this film must have originated either from people associated with the production, or their respective friends; even allowing for the limited budget, this is in no way a five-star viewing experience! This bizarre story is about the search for a zoot-suited demon that preys on female twins, as part of his plan to raise the dead to conquer the living; if this sounds far-fetched and disjointed, it is. You pretty much know what to expect from this low-budget exercise, given the flowery title; however, it just does not come together as it could have with better direction and crisper editing. Despite the amateur acting skills, non-existent sets, hokey special effects, and much of the dialog that added nothing to the storyline, this film did have a few entertaining moments to keep my interest up until the predictable ending. Expect several f-bombs, plenty of female nudity, and limited violence; worth a quick viewing, but only if you can keep from being too critical!

5.0 out of 5 stars The title alone is worth the $...but the film delivers September 3, 2012
Whatever you picture in your weak little mind when you imagine a new zombie movie is intrinsically wrong in every way due to the poison fed to you through the mainstream Hollywood vision of modern monsters. Stop it. As a matter of fact just do whats right and slice a full-circle hole from the brow of your forehead 'round to your furthest ear to pull the top back like a lid allowing you to grab your mind out of your faulty skull, crumple the brain like paper trash and toss it in the nearest dumpster because it has lead you very, very astray. You dont need your brain for this film anyways. It wasnt that great of a brain in the first place.

Anyhows, all's you need for Zombie A-hole is your libido, sense of fear and insatiable desire for creepy fun. Maybe some vaseline too, but...thats up to you.

This flick seriously does more with a low budget for horror than "Saw 1 thru 15" combined. The packs of Zombies are different than any flock you seen on any film AND seem to work in a hierarchy which is interesting to say the least. The backwoods backdrop serves to keep you engaged in something foundationally new (no empty big cities or underground sci-fi lairs). Brandon Salkil owns his part(s) in this rowdy thriller and the rest of the cast dance thru the script like they all knew that they were setting their sites on pure B-movie perfection NOT worrying about the distraction of trying to prove their validity as up'n'comers (which ironically IS the real indicator of maturity in any artistic craft proving their validity all-the-more).

There is blood, guts, babes, boobs and interesting kills for thrills. Why wouldnt you watch this? Become a better person. Sit down and enjoy Zombie A-hole. Now.

You're welcome, y'all.

4.0 out of 5 stars Low Budget - Originality - Horror Fun! May 31, 2012
From the guy that brought you Puppet Monster Massacre, has now given us another fun adventure.

With Zombies being a pretty big deal lately, it's nice to see a story that although has some elements we've seen in other movies, is a whole new take on anything you've ever seen involving Zombies.

Now keep in mind that this is the lowest of budgets you can get while still delivering a good looking movie with even better special effects.

This movie is perfect for a Grindhouse setting and in my opinion, a great Double Feature, companion piece for a film like Dead Hooker in a Trunk.

this movie has some really cool slow-mo shooting scenes and great video and sound quality, however, there are so many scenes of people just driving around talking about some padded plot through flashbacks, that it dragged the fun right out of the movie. if dustin mills just did a re-edit of about 70 minutes, enough to move through the killings and eventual showdown, the movie could be a great cult classic with an interesting zombie a-hole. watch 'Manborg' (@ 70 minutes) to see how it's done.
