5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome album, supreme brutality and gore!
This is one of the heaviest death metal albums to date. Like I said this is an Awesome album. One of the most brutal records ever made. Buy this now! Also buy The rest of Mortician's albums because they all kick butt.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre Death Metal...
I have to say that this is not a bad album. Nor is it a good album. It is just there. You know, O. K.The lyrics are just the same as any normal death metal band out there. The vocals are uniteligablely barked, and even if you try to read a long with the lyrics, you will get lost. The guitar work is fast, brutal, and devestating. the bass is hard as well. But the drums are...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for starters, June 14, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Zombie Apocalypse (Audio CD)
This CD is a great start for listeners interested in Mortician.
It is a basic sample of what Mortician is about and what they sound like. If you love horror movies, Mortician is the best band out there. Strickly horror movie music. Great samples, cool guitar riffs and vocals that you CANNOT UNDERSTAND.
You are NOT supposed to be able to hear the lyrics, that is what makes Mortician so great, that is what separates them from soo many other Death Metal\Death Grind bands. Plus you can usually get this CD for the Cheapest price. That way, if you do not like it, you haven't wasted too much money, and if you do like it then buy more of their albums. All of Mortician's music sounds basically the same. Take it for what is it. PURE HORROR MOVIE MUSIC!

5.0 out of 5 stars My first Mortician CD I bought, July 13, 2006
This review is from: Zombie Apocalypse (Audio CD)
This was the first for me and I have to say it is one of the best. The way the tracks are laid out with the inserts from the movies is great. I feel like I am in a horror film when listening to any Mortician CD. All the songs are brutal and they deliver extreme at the same time. I definitely gives this five stars because it is truly a classic and the best CD next to Chainsaw Dismemberment. GO BUY COPY and keep these guys in business to make more albums.

5.0 out of 5 stars mortician's best album yet!, October 17, 2004
By
This review is from: Zombie Apocalypse (Audio CD)
first of all IT HAS MORE THAN ONE SONG! it has 10 infact. this was my first cd by mortician, and i loved it, let me add one more thing before i get to the review, up at the top thats says "related searches" it has nothing to do with cradle of filth and slayer, it is totally the opposite. this is brutal stuff, it is way tuned down guitars with brutal blasting drums and bass.and then this guy's voice, wow. how low can a voice be? listen to this! this guy has the lowest, most guttery, most death metal voice i have ever heard. all the songs on here have like 1 minute intros that are soundclips from their favorit horror films, but then the songs them selfs are only like 45sec-2min. but its all good. i think this cd was lacking song structure, but thats not really what counts.

i defently recomend this to anyone into death metal in general. i cant really compare it to anything exept maybe cannibal corpse back in the ol` butchered at birth days

i really wanted to give it 4.5 stars, but that was not an option.

zombie apocolypse and hell on earth are the best tracks on here, but of course all the stuff on here is very good.

this is the best mortician album yet that i have heard, i have not yet checked out house by the cemetery yet, but i heard it is good and that in next on my list.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre Death Metal..., April 9, 2002

I have to say that this is not a bad album. Nor is it a good album. It is just there. You know, O. K.The lyrics are just the same as any normal death metal band out there. The vocals are uniteligablely barked, and even if you try to read a long with the lyrics, you will get lost. The guitar work is fast, brutal, and devestating. the bass is hard as well. But the drums are not what I would call "innovative". It is just a bunch of off timed blastbeats that do not really go along with the album. Though the samples are very unexpected and interesting, and they go right in with the albums "feel". There are someo standout tracks though. Songs like "Zombie Apocalypse" (the title track), "... of Death" (the Slaughter cover), and "Incinarated" are great examples of what death metal should be, but those are really all that is on there. The C.D. is mediocre, and most of the songs are mundane and boring. But don't get turned off by this album, their new album "Domain of Death" is brilliant. But i fyou like this album buy it. It doesn't really matter...

4.0 out of 5 stars pretty dang heavy, August 25, 2005
This review is from: Zombie Apocalypse (Audio CD)
everything that most people say about Mortician is basically true. however, i get a kick out of their over the top and morbid grinding metal. while i don't play this very often it really hits the horbid spot when i'm in the mood. anyway the samples can get a bit dull, and the production isn't good, but did you hear that Repulsion cover, fast as all hell! don't take this too seriously, its the total horror movie equivolant to metal, and its a good listen.

4.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT SONIC NIGHTMARE!!, February 21, 2004
This review is from: Zombie Apocalypse (Audio CD)
YEP, MORE OF THE SAME FROM THE BAND THAT WILL NOT LET UP ON THEIR SOUND....GOOD! THIS CD IS LIKE AN EP - A CONTINUATION OF CHAINSAW DISMEMBERMENT. THE SONG COUNT IS ONLY 10 BUT THEY TRY TO MAKE IT LAST. THE BEST CUTS ARE THE LAST 4. THE LAST 4 SOUND LIKE THERE IS NO BASS LIKE THEY WERE RECORDED IN A TIN CAN. THEY DO SOME COVERS AS WELL. TO ME, I THINK THAT CHAINSAW AND ZOMBIE IS THE BEST PLACE TO START.

3.0 out of 5 stars Get "Hacked Up..." or "Chainsaw Dismemberment" first, December 30, 2002
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Zombie Apocalypse (Audio CD)
The first 5 songs are really good typical Mortician songs. My main problem with this album is the vocals in the last 4...You can barely hear him even when reading the lyrics, and the covers dont even have lyrics! But, on the bright side of those, theyre very loud. I would start off with either Hacked Up for barbeque, or chainsaw dismemberment. In Hacked, you can hear the "vocals" a little better. In Chainsaw, it's louder and more distorted.
