Book Description

"He had dozed off, feeling safe and exhausted, in the middle of nowhere. He laid his head back just for a second, listening to the madness on the satellite radio. America has fallen! Russia has fallen! The Middle East has fallen! He fell asleep.
His eyes snapped open. A shuffle of dirt caught his ear. He wiped the drool from his mouth. The rearview mirror showed nothing. His heart raced. Something was out there. A flicker of movement caught his eye in the side view mirror. He jerked out of the way just as a hand clutched for his neck. He scrambled through the passenger side door and rolled outside."

The Facility is what the Washington D.C. officials call it. It is a day care for zombie children, tucked deep in the east coast hills. Is there a cure for the zombies? The children of the undead give them the best hope. There are those who think the zombie threat is harmless…and those that don’t. The World Humanitarian Society wants to protect the zombies…or do they? Friends, family and colleagues are set at odds, dealing with the deadly dilemma. What about the zombies? What rights do they have in all of this? Or are they just a means to another diabolical end?

5.0 out of 5 stars Zombie Dew! January 25, 2012
Like Walking Dead? Then you will love Zombie Day Care. This book is sure to grab reader's attention in the first chapter. It offers a unique perspective of how the world recovers from a zombie apocalypse. The World Humanitarian Society offers a deeper view of government involvement in societal aspects, one that makes a person consider political propaganda in our own lives. Ever consider how a zombie views us? This book gives it to you, and I must say Louie is my FAVORITE character. Overall the rhythm of ZDC is just right, and leaves you not wanting to put it down until you've devoured the very last page!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Original and fun! May 24, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love zombies, so I was so excited to find this book! I wasn't disappointed at all! It was such a great, fun read. I also liked how the plot was original and wasn't based on other zombie movies I've watch or books I've read. It was very refreshing to read it.

The book was enjoyable to read because the story was so tightly woven and the character were well developed. I can't wait to read book 2. I think I'm addicted to this series!

And as a bonus, I do feel a bit more secure if an zombie apocalypse occurs because my husband drinks Mt. Dew all of the time, so we are covered!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Read September 2, 2012

I enjoyed reading this story. I am a bit of a Walking Dead fan, so when I saw this story I had to read it. I am looking forward to the second book too. I thought the characters where believable and the story idea quite interesting. Have to admit that it has been a month or so since I read the book. Should have reviewed it right away but I didn't and I am sorry. But it was an enjoyable read and I would recommend it to others especially Walking Dead fans.. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Now I'm glad I drink Mt. Dew!! May 3, 2013

I loved the different feel of this story. It's still a zombie story, but with a different spin. What would happen if we figured out a way to make them stop and slow down?? Great story!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Review of Zombie Day Care April 30, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Zombie Day Care is interesting. It starts off as any predictable zombie fare, the world has gone to hell, zombies are eating everyone, no one knows how it started, and everyone is going to die. But then, one average joe stumbles across a 'cure'. Well not a cure really, but something that definitely helps the odds. Something that also leads to zombie 'day cares'. Sorry don't want to spoil too much.

I liked the story. It gave a neat twist to the traditional zombie tale. Yes, the twist is kinda silly, but it's still fun. The characters were well written. Even supporting characters were given just enough detail to flesh them out, even the zombies! (No pun intended,ok well maybe a little bit intended.)

The ending is a twist as well. It' s also a bit of a cliff hanger. You never really get to find out what's happened to all the characters. Amazingly it's not as annoying as it sounds. I guess that is due in part to the fact that this is only the beginning of the series, so one would hope that certain characters would reappear in further installments.

Considering the ending and the fact that this is less a tale of zombie survival and more a tale of government cover up that involves zombies, I really have to say I enjoyed Zombie Day Care. There's a lot of background social satire in certain parts that had me laughing at the fact that I could see people actually arguing over zombie's rights and stuff. Don't get me wrong, it isn't a comedy, but the story doesn't get caught up in taking itself too serious.

I definitely plan to pick up a copy of the next book in the series. I want to see what happens to some of the characters, as well as to the world in general since the zombie problem was far from fixed. I also want to see if the author's sarcastic wit still carries on through the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars New November 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This author went a completely new direction with this book. I'm using someone else's kindle to read it but it does have action, loads of suspense and it's an over all mystery. I have already recommended this book to 2 people and will be recommending to my fellow zombie fanatics and people who like to read as well as customers at my job. I can't wait to read the next book. It's great to have a book that's easy to follow and I'm a picky reader and I don't normally like more then one book by an author but I'm gonna buy book 2 as soon as I submit this. If you're unsure about this book I think you should definitely read it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly great! May 27, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I expected this to be campy. Not that the cover or the synopsis gave any indication of B movie hilarity, mind you. It was the name that had me convinced that any page now, this book would quickly turn something like you'd see on MST3K, if MST3K were still running. What I didn't expect was for it to be good, REALLY good, but it was. It's zombies, but it's unique (mountain dew??), well written, and with a fascinating new twist to the genre. It also touches on deeper social issues such as how the government meddles around with public perception... but hey I read it for the zombies. Great book all around, and I can't wait to see the next!

4.0 out of 5 stars A different kind of zombie story May 12, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a well written, long, free zombie story. What more could you ask for? It has all the elements of a good story, from the initial outbreak and making of a hero, to secret government plots, secret government labs, some humor, murder, a little rated pg sex, and a bad guy who gets his in the end (I was so hoping for that!).

This story appears to be a prequel to another story, but it actually stands alone well as its own story with a beginning, middle and end. This story has a good plot, which develops into other subplots as the story progresses.

Mt. Dew as zombie thorazine, Mr. Halloran, you sir, are a genius!

I will likely read more from this author.
