Super cute, rhyming tale of Zombies. I love the creative parallel between activities of those bump in the night creatures and those of our regular kids. This story is certain to chase away some fears and give grown-ups a laugh, as well.

Loved Zombie Kids! It's filled with fun rhymes and really terrific illustrations. Though it's written for kids ages 8 and up, adults will get a chuckle out of it, too. Zombies are my new best friends.

Here's what my 5 year old son and I have to say about this book:

SON SAYS:

What I liked and disliked:

I liked how you learned that zombies are actually nice. The pictures of the zombies were not scary. They were funny.

There were lots of good parts. It was funny how one of the zombies had no head and he chopped off his own foot. I liked the part where the dog runs off with one of the zombie bones. It was funny when, if you are sitting behind a zombie in the movie theatre and you can't see, they can take their head off and put it on their knees. The zombies were eating eyeballs instead of popcorn in the movie theatre. I liked that zombies are actually really good bowlers because if they're not going to get all the bowling pins down, then they can roll their head a different way to get all of the pins down.

When the zombies were going camping, one of the zombies feet caught on fire - that was funny. It was funny how they are good golfers because they always keep their eye on the ball cause one of their eyes is the ball. I learned that if the zombies get hungry then you should just be like a statue and they will eventually stomp away.

There was nothing I didn't like about this book.

My bottom line:

I loved this book so much I want to read it every day. I would recommend it to everybody.

MOM SAYS:

What I liked and disliked:

We love everything Halloween in this house and we are pretty excited to be featuring Halloween books all month long. In our household, the kids are fascinated by zombies year round. In fact, in our neighborhood, there is a weekly zombie cafe hosted by one of the local restaurants so we see zombies in full costume walking on the sidewalk every weekend.

This book if full of fun and creepy zombies! I read this book to my 3 year old daughter and here is what she said, "Even though the zombies are icky, they are actually nice!" In my house we love monsters. I think that it's good to read stories about monsters because then your children learn to love them rather than be scared of monsters lurking under their beds! I absolutely loved this book. I loved the rhyming verses, rhyming books are always more fun to read. I adored the illustrations in this book. They are wonderful! We thought this book was funny, especially the part about going bowling with a zombie head and being careful not to stick your fingers in the zombie's nose and getting zombie-snot on your fingers.

I'm really loving this author so far, this is the second book I've read by Julia Dweck. We will continue reading her books in this house, I only wish the books were available in print. I would buy a copy of each! This book if perfect for Halloween! If your household loves monsters like we do, I think that you and your kids will love this book! Definitely check it out!

This book completely grabbed my attention - you don't usually find books about zombie children - and I found the cover intriguing. I am so glad that I picked it up when I found it for free on Amazon. It is HILARIOUS! And the artwork is spot on. The story of a boy who goes out to hang out with the zombie children in the evenings - what they do and the lesson this boy learns from them. There is a second book and I plan on reading that one soon.

The kids LOVED it. They laughed. They whooped. They pretended they were zombies. They asked me to read it a couple of more times. They looked at the artwork. They tried to make their own zombie kids books. This one of the books I don't mind that they keep asking me for. It might only be 20 pages, but I would pay the $2.99 for it.
