A review from Zombiefans!, October 31, 2007

Yee-hah!!
I would call this a fun filled, low-budget zombie splatter fest. The typical cliches are there; gross out blood & gore, minor nudity, zombies eating and nifty zombie make-up. You can tell that the director was influenced by George Romero, but the parasites reminded me of the 1986 horror film "Night of the Creeps" and the more recent "Slither." Where exactly the parasites came from is very vague, and might bother anyone looking for a definitive answer.
The director (Damon Lemay) keeps the zombie action fast & furious with many gore filled details and a few jump in your seat "gotchas" that work. The make-up is nicely done. (at a few points, even I was grossed out) The main trio of actors weren't bad, and it shows that they had fun while making this zombie opus. The soundtrack wasn't 100% thrash / heavy metal, which I enjoyed. I, personally, am sick to death of a director who uses this type of music ALL the time. I'm not against it; but there is a line for overkill. And I really would like to see what the director could do with a real movie budget.
Is this movie perfect? No. Is this the "Citizen Kane" of zombie flicks? No. Take it for what it is; an enjoyable fun filled zombie flick, made by people who enjoy zombie flicks, that doesn't take itself too seriously.

Don't break down in Zombie Town, November 2, 2008
This review is from: Zombie Town (DVD)
Truly a work of comic,er zomic genius Zombie Town takes us to any small town U.S.A. that's over run with flesh eating ghouls. The zomedy never lets up as we follow the inept mechanic Jake LaFond, who couldn't fix a flat tire on a wheelbarrow much less a Chevy. Gun toting reneck clubs designed for weekends away from the old ladies nagging and uninterupted drinking to the granny Bingo night slaughter leaves Zombie Town destined to become a cult classic. For those of you who like a LOT of humor miked with your gore this film's for you. You'll die laughing if the zombies don't eat your brain first!

I felt like a zombie after watching this., January 18, 2012
This review is from: Zombie Town (DVD)
What can I say about ZOMBIE TOWN that probably hasn't already been said? Normally I write well versed reviews with superfluous prose about the qualities, or even the few good things I could find in a film or piece of literature. But with this film, I could find nothing positive to say. And as lover of campy films and B Movies, that is indeed saying something! First off - this isn't even close to an original concept, as any child or teen of the 80s will recall, there was a much better version of this film; it was called NIGHT of the CREEPS. It was better acted, better scripted, had better characters, and was quite enjoyable to watch. This film had almost no plot behind it, or at least that I could detect. The acting was wooden, the sound was sub par, and the monsters (zombies in this case) looked ridiculous. I think when faced with the prospect of watching this film again because a friend of mine told me he had never seen it before, I would rather go into the bathroom, scrape the back of my thighs with a cheese grater, and soak in a tub full of vinegar - it would have been less painful. IF you are thinking of purchasing this film - don't. Big waste of time... and brain cells.
