I've used many different Bibles over the years and this is the only one that has ever really satisfied me. Being a cronic note taker I felt stifled by most study bibles that wanted to tell you every thing but never let you interact with the text; in other words, when a great application of scripture came to me, I was forced to dig for a notebook, only to lose it days later. One note, however, the pages are a little thin, so if you're heavy handed like me there will be imprints of what you wrote in the margin several pages later, but no worse than most other books. Bible includes the venerable and popular NIV translation.

The NIV wide-margin bible by Zondervan is great. I love it.
First of all the size of this bible is just right. I was afraid it would be too bulky, but it's not.
The printing is excellent. The letters have the right size, not too big, not too small and the printing is very clear. See the Zondervan website for a nice sample. The one here on Amazon doesn't give an accurate picture at all. This bible is excellent quality. Very easy on the eyes, very clear, very nice.
The main feature I bought this bible for is the wide margin and I'm very pleased with it. It's 1.5" on the outer edge. There are also blank pages in the back.
Not much of anything else though, it's not a study bible. There is an explanation of weights and measures in the back, a concordance and some maps. That's it. So if you need a lot of extras this is not the bible for you.

I am in seminary right now at Vineyard Leadership Institute and I bought this Bible specifically so I can use it for taking notes in school in the margins.

Regardless if you are in a Christian school... in Bible college or seminary... this is the Bible you need so you can make notes... underline for future reference.

I am also a pastor that works on a large church staff and a large part of my job is to do sermon research and preparation. I use this also to make notes for future references toward sermons.

The only down side is to make sure that you do your notes in pen. I started out doing it in pencil and it did seem to fade fairly quickly.

I bought this Bible and found it to be very helpful in note-taking, as well as during my personal study time. An economical no-nonsense Bible that is very useful. I would suggest reading other translations as well or using some helpful online guides in Hebrew and Greek.

The Bible is quite durable and will probably last five years. If you use your Bible a lot, that's pretty good...
