David Yezzi is the author of The Hidden Model and Sad Is Eros. His poems and criticism have appeared in the New York Times Book Review, Wall Street Journal, Times Literary Supplement, New Republic, New Criterion, Paris Review, Yale Review, and elsewhere. He wrote the libretto for composer David Conte's opera Firebird Motel, which was performed in San Francisco in November 2003. He is an associate editor of Parnassus: Poetry in Review and director of the Unterberg Poetry Center of the 92nd Street Y in New York City.
