We bought these after seeing them at my son's preschool. They are made out of solid wood which we really liked. They are a bit expensive, but they are so unique, I think they are worth the price. My only complaint is the durability of the drum. My son had it turned upside down on the carpet and poked it with the drumstick...of course if punctured a hole in it. We taped it back up with some masking tape and it looks fine, but obviously the sound is off. It would have been nice to have a thicker material used for the drum skin. All the other items are still in great shape 3 years later!

These lovely wooden instruments arrived today - so I have already been subjected to several symphonies by my 20 month old.
I love that they aren't cheap plastic things that will break at the slightest show of enthusiasm and my son loved the three instruments that rattled. He isn't really keen on the ones that require him to use the little drum stick. In time.... I don't know what the finish is - so I don't reco for any little ones that are teething - but for those past teething - I think these are a great choice. |
