This is a really awesome game! If you love playing computer games for the challenge and the action then this game is probably not for you! However, if you are like me, and enjoy playing stress-free, easy-going games than this will be perfect for you! I would recommend Zoo Tycoon 2 because:
1. You can zoom in further while building.
2. All the plants, animals, and terrain are organized into biomes to easily set up your exhibits. You can even build waterfalls!
3. You can play freeform, with no restrictions on money or building.
4. It has objects that #1 didn't (ex. musical rocks, more food stands, different employees)

This game has countless possibilities, and you'll find yourself starting, and re-starting zoos to come up with the perfect look!

The only downfall would be that there aren't as many animals as in zoo tycoon 1 with both expansion packs (the marine one and the dinosaur one). However, they've already come out with a zoo tycoon 2 expansion pack for PC, so maybe the mac version will be out soon! I hope! But untill then, this game is still very entertaining, and I would highly recommend it!

I purchased this for my daughter as an upgrade to the original version that included the aquarium and the dinosaur options. The only disappointment is the fact that they haven't released the additional options in MAC format yet, so she can't build dinosaur exhibits or the African Safari, which is currently availabe for Windows only. Otherwise, the graphics are great and it is much easier for my 6-year old to play this on her own since they use more icons instead of copy when it comes to keeping the animals happy and healthy. She likes taking pictures of her animals too.

I was able to exact revenge on my former employers as a zookeeper in this game. I was once a zookeeper, enjoyed the job, but couldn't stand the bureaucracy of the zoo world and their bad ideas on animal collections and exhibit design. I wish I could have designed a cool reptile building with the expansion packs, but it still rocks. I've played this game for hours and still enjoy it. A must buy for adults and children. Enjoy.

it is very well done. better graphics than the original. it provides a fun learning experience for all ages, and its simple enough for younger ones to figure out. you'll be glued to the screen with zoo tycoon 2!

Zoo Tycoon 2 is a fine and beautiful game but Mac users are getting a BAD DEAL!! As of right now it appears we are not getting the Zoo 2 Expansion Pack that PC users are getting. When a company starts treating its most passionate users (and Mac people are VERY passionate about their machines) as second-class citizens, you're going to get some very [...] users. Macs are used more widely by kids than PCs. Do you not understand your customers? This game is a good one and Mac users already pay twice as much for it than PC users, so you are really testing our loyalties here.

The least you game makers could do is let us KNOW if you will ever give us an expansion pack. It's incredibly disrespectful of your customers to leave us hanging.

My nephew and I both love this. It is very different from the first ones but just as fun.

Have you ever heard of this game? Do you want to learn more about this game? LOL! Of corse you WANT to learn and hear about this wicked game for a mac or a PC computer. This is one of the most top 5 computer games along with Zoo tycoon, Roolercoster tycoon, Circus tycoon and much more I couldn't even fit on this hole paragraph! OMG stop getting off topic Lela! Yup that's me always gettin' off topic! If you like animals, monkeying around, and being creative this is your kind-a game. If you like 3-D computer games look a - like computer games or well cool computer games well . . . . . get this one! The madness never stops! The first time it came out everyone rushed in the stores to get this one - of - a - kind game. Your ready for action right now to go in stores and get it right? WELL NOT WET I'M NOT FINISHED SHEESH I'm kidding! But I'm seriously not finished. Now let me tell you what you do in this game:
So you turn the game on the first thing you do is make a character then put any clothes you want on her. ( Your choice! ) Then you pick 5 animals out I mean zoo animals like tigers, gorillas monkeys, zebras ok you get the point! Then you pick an area you want to do then you decorate that area with trees and lakes and stuff. After, you make random people, and place them any where then they'll automaticly walk by themselves. Then you put popcorn stands up and washrooms and all that kind of stuff. But you know that it's way funner then how I exclaimed it! So now that you know how much fun it is maybe ask your mom or dad? This product is sold at Wal Mart, EB games, Toys R us and that's all. See ya'll soon Tycoon lovers!

I thought I was ordering the Windows version. I received the Mac version which I cannot run.
