Editorial Reviews

Review

“These are hands down the cutest books ever to grace my shelf. For those who need a surge of oxytocin, it’s impossible to pick up either one without smiling ear to ear.”
--DiscoverMagazine.com

"Page after page of baby tigers, otters, penguins, and apes so overbearingly adorable it hurts just to look at them.”
--DailyCandy.com

Zooborns pulls off the difficult task of being cute and interesting for people of all ages while also being informative.”
--BlogCritics.com

“The book’s 150 pages is barely enough to contain the sickening cuteness of dozens of snuggly young animals. . . a book rich in both content and visually stunning photography.”
--DeepSeaNews.com

ZooBorns is more of a photo/coffee table book than one that required dedicated reading.

Clearly a picture book, for children, but I think they give some interesting information about the animals, and VERY cute pictures.

I own both of the ZooBorns books and have bought a bunch of extras to give as Christmas gifts to my niece and nephews.

I've waited months for this, and it didn't let me down. It's a fundraiser for ZooBorns.com and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Conservation Endowment Fund. If you don't know the website, check it out immediately, then buy the book (or the children's version ZooBorns!).
It's a perfect example of what the web should be and this book is a delightful way to enjoy it offline. Gorgeous pictures, with just enough information to make you want more- but it's all about the pictures.

ZooBorns features baby animals from zoos and aquariums around the world, and discusses the role that these births play in conservation efforts. Beautiful photos of animals are accompanied by descriptions that include the dates of births, their endangered status, and background stories for each baby.

In ZooBorns pages, you will find well known animals like orangutans, giraffes and kangaroos. However, you will also see photos of animals like the crowned sifaka and the rock hyrax that I've personally never seen or heard of before.

ZooBorns is more of a photo/coffee table book than one that required dedicated reading. The images are too adorable for words and you will definitely find an animal or two that you knew nothing before opening this book. It's likely to appeal to adults and children alike, and will surely spark a conversation in any room!

I own both of the ZooBorns books and have bought a bunch of extras to give as Christmas gifts to my niece and nephews. The photos are precious and I love the additional information about each of the animals featured. This book is now prominently displayed on our coffee table. If you are looking for a fun little gift for an animal lover - of any age - you can't go wrong with ZooBorns!

My Grandchildren made a trip to the zoo and ran out of money so they called me to get this book they saw in the gift shop. They LOVE it!

Baby elephants to chimps to penguins to zebras and more and more. ZooBorns is an image rich book filled with endless information on the world's smallest (and sometimes large) animals. With facts about where they're from, if they're endangered, where they were born and often special stories about a certain animal's species or birth story. ZooBorns is perfect for readers of every age level, especially those that are young at heart.

This book has truly been a delight in our home. From the moment it arrived I began to look over it with both the Turkeybird and Littlebug a few pages at a time. They've absolutely loved it, but Littlebug even more so. She's definitely more of an animal gal. One of the more enjoyable parts about the book is being able to explain to them the stories that accompany many of the animals, like this one for the baby Crowned Sifaka named Tahina...

"With her mother unable to care for her, tiny Tahina relied on zookeepers for nourishment and a stuffed teddy bear for comfort.

"Crowned sifaka lemurs are found only in Madagascar, and their survival is threatened by deforestation. Less than 1,000 remain in the wild." p.55 ZooBorns

I was able to share with them the stories of these incredible animals, what they could do to help and how one day they may be able to visit them in person. It's been extremely enjoyable. Obviously you might have already guessed Littlebug's favorite animal was the elephant, but it was even before the book (she's just a gal who loves elephants, who knew?). The Turkeybird on the other hand loved the Green Turtles with their dark shells, he said he'd like to visit the aquarium
again to touch one. We'll see if he actually does.

Overall, I feel like ZooBorns was an extremely enjoyable read.

I saw an article in a magazine about the Zooborns book, and I had to have it. My local bookstore did not have it. Amazon to the rescue! My daughter and I love this book. The photos are so beautiful. You can see many baby animals that are not able to be seen in most zoos. I am very pleased with this purchase.

This book was purchased for my mother. She is an avid supporter of the Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek, MI and is always excited about showing the family the new borns there. When she opened the book on Christmas, she couldn't put it down. With two great grandchildren on her lap, they looked at every page for over a half hour. It was definitely a hit!
