I got tired of buying the no-name modems you get with a PC because I invariably had problems with them. If you access the internet by modem, you don't want to skimp on this component of your computer system. All the Zoom modems are good (I've installed and used the external and PCI versions of this modem as well.) They make reliable connections, come with very good software and features. I've had no problems installing and using them. The instructions are clear. This particular model is and ISA card for older computers. It will work well with Linux as well as Windows.
