If you do most of your recording indoors and stationary the AD14 will save you from changing the batteries on a regular basis. I'm using it with the Zoom Q3 and it works great.

I am pleased with the Zoom Q3 I purchased from another vendor to record music audition repertoire for colleges and scholarships for my son. I was surprised that an AC adaptor is not included in the box by the Zoom folks as a standard item. I was very thankful to see that this seller offers the Zoom Q3 adaptor on Amazon and provides speedy shipping. It works perfectly and I have been very thankful to be able to use it and not have to rely on battery power.
