I purchased this as a gift for an advanced guitar player. I own an older Zoom model, and have always appreciated the brand for its value. This model has many of the same features as more expensive effects pedals, such as a built-in tuner, drum sounds, tons of effects, and the ability to personalize and store effects. And it costs a few hundred less!
We especially love the artist simulations (Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, etc.) and the ease of use. There are two things we didn't love: that several effects will not work in combination with the drum beats, and that the pedal and selector buttons are so small - slightly hard to control when you're standing up and playing. But overall, wouldn't trade it for anything!

As Good As It Gets For The Money,

Costs around $20 less than the competing DigiTech RP90 DigiTech RP90 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal and is just as good, if not better. These low-cost, entry-level, all-in-one pedals are ideal for beginner to intermediate level players. Saves you a lot of time, money, cables, batteries, headaches! Based on the description, I wasn't sure if A/C adapter was included, but it is. Gave 4 Stars instead of 5 because of the lightweight plastic case and the small congested footswitches.

Very nice effects pedal,

I purchased this pedal and am very pleased with it. The quality of the effects is really very good, better than some of the high priced individual stomp box pedals made by the "big name" competitors.
The pedal seems sturdy, and is not that difficult to figure out how to use. There are two banks of effects, pre-programmed combinations of effects, and a bank for the owner/user to create and store their own combinations in any order desired. The drum beat section is very good, too. The modulation effects, phaser, flanger, chorus, etc.. sound pretty good and are highly adjustable. I find the reverbs in this pedal to be exceptional, considerable better than the "big name" pedals for many times the price. I found that the reverb and delay alone on this pedal are worth the price. Additionally, the ring modulator effect is fun to play around with. All in all, this is a good pedal and a lot of fun to play around with. It is a very good way to sample all of the types of effect sounds available at a very reasonable price. If mine were to break, I would definitly get another one.

I'm a beginning guitarist, and this is the first petal I've bought. It has a wide array of sounds, from various effects to various amp types simulated via a DSP. I like the fact that it's either battery or plug-in powered. It's small enough to fit inside my GIG bag, which makes it great for traveling... I can practice with the full range of sounds by plugging my headphones straight in, without having to bring a long an amp. Extremely versatile and satisfying.

It's ok for its low price, but don't expect miracles. The amp models are stretch. I was disapointed that the Fender and Marshall amp settings were not more like the real thing. I guess it's impossible to get tube tone from chips. You can get some real nice tones out of this and have a lot of fun playing around with it. If could have, I would have paid a little more and gotten something better. The wah sound is pretty weak and their are too many metal tones, instead of more clean and/or partly clean tones.

Update: After fooling around with all the neat little configurations, I have come to the conclusion that this may be my favorite pedal. Not only does this bad-boy come with more effects than you can shake a stick at (be warned however, the wah is very weak), it also comes with a pitch shifter and harmonizer. For those that do not know what am I talking about, a pitch shifter allows you to change the tuning that you are playing in without re-tuning. You can go either one octave below standard, or 2 octaves above standard. A harmonizer allows you to play those beautiful harmonies without the need for 2 or 3 other guitarists. Throw in a tuner, expression pedal, a built-in drum machine, and you got yourself one of the most inexpensive, professional grade multi-effects pedals out there.

I have using this expression pedal approximately 3 months and I love it. it has all of things i was looking for. 40 drums tracks, a lot of combination ex. distorcion, compressor, overdrive, wah wah, delay etc. and sounds like acoustic too.

I'm happy w/ it. Been playing for 17 years. Earlier playing went through a huge variety of electric guitars/pedals and amps. I feel i have an idea what's hot and what's not. This is a great pedal especially for the price. Can be overwelming at first due to so much variety on it. Take your time with it, study the instructions and you'll soon see it has a lot to offer. Drum machine is pretty sweet, 40 settings. each w/ a tempo change option. sounds pretty good. Fun to plug headphones into it . I use it for acoustic and electric guitars. One down fall (in my opinion) is the pedal is kinda weak. Not really needed but a fun workable option.

I have had this unit for a few days and am really pleased with several things:
1. Simplicity/Ease of Use 2. Sound - it really has a wide array of sounds and meets pretty much any need that I have to satisfy various styles: metal/thrash, crunchy blues, clean tones, spacious chorus clean, great reverbs, and more. 3. Price price price! I have put together four custom patches so far and could not be happier. Using it with headphones is wonderful for practicing.

I bought the Zoom pedal for myself, a guitar player for 3 years now. The price was amazing compared to all the other pedals I'd tried and the sound was fairly good considering the features and cost. I'd like to upgrade eventually but it's a decent enough pedal for beginner to intermediate.
As with most multi-function pedals, I thought there was a decent sized learning curve to this, and an off switch would be nice. I didn't read the manual which might explain my confusion while trying to use it, but like most pedals; Fiddle around long enough and you'll figure it out fine. |
