Book Description

Amherst Media's Photo-Imaging Series September 1, 1996
How to select a zoom and use it to design and produce powerful and visually exciting photos.

Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

Part of Amherst's "Photo-Imaging" series, this manual concentrates on the purchase, use, and technical considerations of the zoom lens. Bial (Looking Good: Photographing Your Library, ALA, 1991) has tailored his text for the creative amateur who uses an electronic 35mm camera. Particularly helpful are the numerous images that illustrate, for the novice, the varying effects of different focal lengths. An entire manual on the zoom lens may not be warranted in many collections. In this case, however, Bial has nicely fleshed out the subject with tips on composition, lighting, and relevant genres of the medium, such as sports and vacation photography. Public libraries will find this title an especially appropriate and cost-effective addition to their photo how-to collections.
