I bought this shortly after my teenager returned home after disappearing with my car for 5 days. When I got her back, this product became an integral part of re-establishing trust in her again. When she was gaining back her driving priviledges, I tracked her movements continuously and watched where she went. I caught her lying 2 times about where she was at and each time, she lost priviledges for a period of time. Since those two times, I've never caught her lying about where she's at again, and yes, I still check up on her, but not continuously as I was before!
The online tracking at Zoombak.com is very easy to use. You can either do "spot checking" and see where your car is at that moment, or you can turn on "continuous tracking" and have your car tracked for an hour at a time. My only wish is that it was for longer than an hour. At the end of the hour, the tracking shuts off and you have to restart it manually. A nice feature of the Zoombak is the ability to set zone alarms. If the car goes a certain distance from the location during certain hours, you can receive either text alerts on your cell phone, emailed alerts, or both. You don't need a PC to track your car - it can be done via a cell phone, or even a call to Zoombak's customer service number. I've only had to call Customer Service twice. Once to activate the unit, and again when I thought I had a problem with the unit - turns out I did not have any problem with it - and both times the agent was very polite. I've had this permanently installed in my car so it stays constantly charged. I had Best Buy install it, and they were quick and inexpensive. Even if you do not have teen drivers, this product will help give you and your loved ones peace of mind. Cars break down, cell phones batteries run out, cars get stolen...imagine knowing that you can find out where your car is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Not just for pets anymore!,

We live in a rural area in northern MN and have a child with Autism. We bought the Zoombak to help us be able to track him, as he has a tendency to wander without warning. In addition to being able to track him, it alerts us if he leaves our pre-defined area. This has been just what we needed to help keep our son safe.
We try to never have to use it, because using it means we've lost track of our son. But it has happened. One time his school van was over 1/2 hour late - so I got online and could see where he was on the map. - Almost home. - Another time we thought our son was in the basement playing, but he was outside (scary!) I was able to pinpoint which direction he went very quickly by going online and getting a pinpoint on the map. I also rely on the zone alert feature, as piece of mind. I have a small radius set around our home and around school. If he goes beyond the zone at an unscheduled time, I receive a text message on my cell phone. This has happened a few times. Usually there is a good reason, but I love the control I have in knowing and being able to check on this activity.

I almost decided not to buy this product based on some of the negatative reviews. Boy am I glad I DID buy it. I gave it to my sister and told her to take it with her and to send me a text when she arrived. I told her not to tell me where she was, and I would try to locate her. We played this game for a week testing the Zoombak and it only failed to transmit her location ONCE! Why you ask?
Because she had forgotten to turn it on!. I wish people would start reading the directions before they write a nasty review. They clearly state that it should not be placed under metal, yet one guy said he put it in his trunk, also remember it may take up to 15 minutes to get a location. Most of all remember it runs on a cell phone network. Does your cell phone work everywhere? No. As an ex-cop who took many missing persons reports I can easily say that this is a good product worth every penny, that does what it says! Oh and by the way I tracked it using my home computer and my iphone. And I got a signal under the seat, in the house and in the trunk. but keep in mind I live in a large city with great cell coverage.
