Sweden's greatest artist, Anders Zorn, is not nearly as well known as he should be, but he was as good a painter as Velazquez or Rembrandt. Moreover, Zorn was the greatest watercolorist of all time. His paintings and color usage are simply stunning. A great portrait painter, Zorn did two of the most famous paintings of Presidents Grover Cleveland and William Howard Taft. This book is a great way to see the works of Anders Zorn. It is beautifully illustrated throughout. Covering Zorn's oil paintings, watercolors, etchings, and a few wood carvings, this book is certainly one of the very best resources on Anders Zorn.
The other two books on Zorn I would recommend are "Sjalvpotratt Moten med Anders Zorn (Self Portraits Meetings with Anders Zorn)" and "Anders Zorn: Till ogats frojd och nationens forgyllning." All three of these books are in Swedish, but the self portraits book has an English translation in the back. Even if you don't understand Swedish, all of these books are worth having if you love art and want to see the work of one the greatest artists of all time. If you like Zorn you should also look for books on Russia's greatest artist Ilya Repin, who tragically is also under-appreciated.

Anders Zorn is by every means the successor of that precious legacy of painters such as Joaquìn Sorolla and John Singer Sargent, who have contributed to maintain figurative art to its highest peaks. This book is by far the most comprehensive collection of his works, a "must have" in your collection if you are a serious figurative/landscape artist. I highly recommend it.
