Book Description

Originally published in 1910 as a portion of the author’s larger “Masters of Achievement,” this Kindle edition, equivalent in length to a physical book of approximately 16 pages, describes the life and teachings of ancient Persian prophet Zoroaster (Zarathustra).

Includes Supplemental Material:

• About Zaroastrianism
• About the Zend-Avesta

Sample passage:
He evidently traveled over a considerable part of Iran, for mention is made of his presence at various places; and he was doubtless, also, the leader of a group of chieftains—one of whom was King Vishtaspa—who carried on a political, military, and religious struggle for the establishment of a holy agricultural state, whose laws encouraged pastoral labor, tillage, and thrift, as against the freebooting tendencies of Turanian and Vedic aggressors. That he was legislator, prophet, pontiff, and philosopher, as tradition asserts, is quite within the bounds of truth; but that he was the “abyss of all wisdom and truth, and the master of the whole living creation” must be taken as a mere oriental extravagance, though at the same time it shows the place Zoroaster occupied in Persian thought.

About the author:
Henry Woldmar Ruoff (1865-1935) was an author whose other works include “The Century Book of Facts,” “The Capitals of the World,” and “Leaders of Men.”

5.0 out of 5 stars Good info. Unbiased opinions October 14, 2013

I needed this book for a research paper. I've spent a lot of time researching Zoroastrianism, and am impressed with this book. It is a bit too wordy for my liking but it does give a brief and yet detailed account on Zoroasters life and teaching. I found it a lot easier to get the information out of this than a lot of the other resources I've found

A nice quick overview. Nothing too specific about his teachings.

When you read the book why not try telling the story your way. Who knows ? If I like it I might use it for an event so we can make more money to adopt the orphans. The UN tells me there are 2.5 Billion orphans worldwide. We are starting in Rio de Janero. I have seen pictures of many. Sad. The world can never have enough stories. Sell your stories on Uncle Jeffie's Amazon.com....saving the US Post Office from the New and ????improved Tea party. Send your story to peaceby2027@gmail.com and if I like it you may become an event. Love & Peace, Deborah
