Z Is Zizzling Hot, Relief Is Not!,
By J. Nowicki "The Boss and Mrs. B." (Bay City, Michigan United States) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Zostrix High Potency , Arthritis Pain Relief, Odor Free Cream, 2 oz (56.6 g) Tube (Health and Beauty)
Zostrix HP is very much the XXX strength formula! Hours after use I was still feeling the burn without experiencing relief. Bought on the recommendation of my doctor, and after using it, I, who can tolerate quite a bit of heat, don't know as I would buy it again. Whatever you do, please be careful and do not touch your eyes or nose. I tried to change my rating to one star but it wouldn't register. ~ Mrs. B.UPDATE: April 13, 2007: From too hot to nothing at all! I tried the Zostrix HP Analgesic Cream again, this time rubbing a generous amount on my aching hand and wrist, hoping for some relief. Unfortunately, relief was not to be had by using the Zostrix HP! Zilch! Nothing! Nada! Not even heat! What gives with that? Thank goodness, for my 'Bucky Hotties Hand Warmer Mitt'! I heated it in the micro until it was, indeed, a 'Hotties' both in name and in actuality, put it on covering my hand and wrist, and even then, the only heat I felt was that of the 'Bucky Hotties Mitt'. The Mitt was the only thing that soothed the aching. If I could, I would give the Zostrix HP absolutelty NO stars at all. ~ Mrs. B. April 14, 2007: Tried it yet again, this time on my shoulder with the same results as yesterday! I'm done, I gave it three good tries and it's still 'good for nothing'! Now they owe me stars!~ Mrs. B.

Zostrix takes time to work - HOT? Yes!,
By Christopher Gordon "cmgventura11" (Southern Cal) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Zostrix High Potency , Arthritis Pain Relief, Odor Free Cream, 2 oz (56.6 g) Tube (Health and Beauty)
I agree with another review here that Zostrix is very hot, at first. When I first used it I also felt like it was a waste of money, but then I gave it another try. The heat is definitely uncomfortable but with time that effect lessens. My rheumatologist says that continued use with Capsaicin will desensitize the affected areas. I have fibromyalgia, so I hurt all the time, any help is desired, so I try many products. I have found Capsaicin (which Zostrix contains) in conjunction with "Ben-Gay" type medications (containing Menthol and Methyl Salicylate), helps give some pain relief. It hasn't afforded me incredible pain relief, but it helps so I will continue using it. I also use the hot wax tubs for my hands. I wouldn't use Zostrix on the hands since touching sensitive parts of the face and body can really hurt if Zostrix is put there. Be very careful not to get it in eyes, nose, etc. I wash up completely after applying cream.

Product is amazing, but beware of the instructions. This product works better than most and you will feel the heat as soon as you start up any activity. Make sure to let the part of the body breathe and not cover it!
