This little machine works exactly as it should when running Windows 7 -- silently and competently. The new all-in-one cpu/graphics chip from AMD is a little wonder and, amazingly, can even do some light 3D gaming. This box has all the hardware most laptops do nowadays: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, SD reader, eSata, USB 3.0, HDMI, DisplayPort, and even Infrared (a remote is included). What's best about it is its footprint -- it's same width and depth of an Apple Magic Trackpad and can attach to the back of your monitor. Unlike the Mac Mini, opening it up for a RAM or hard drive upgrade is a cinch. I can't speak for other operating systems, but Windows 7 controls the fan, the sleep/hibernation modes, etc, perfectly. I did have to do a firmware update, however, and of course, there is no operating system pre-installed, so it doesn't pass the grandma test.

This is a great media client and works perfect with openelec or XBMCbuntu. My dog ate the remote that came with it and I contacted Zotac. They said that the remote only comes with the ZBox and is not sold seperately. However they said they would contact me if a extra remote came their way. Even after my ticket was closed they contacted me and told me that they had a extra remote. They shipped at no cost to me whatsoever. What great customer service!!!! Will buy from Zotac again.

Wheter you have your own media server or choose to stream (NAVI-X and openelec) this is the media box you want to buy, forget BOXEE Box and any networked media tank ever sold. This one plays everything with no hitching, stuttering, or framebreaks. Its only limitation is XBMC, and that is not much of a limitaion.

I took this straight out of the box, hooked it up to a NEC Multisync EA221WM with a DVI-HDMI adapter, ethernet cable to router, standard keyboard via USB, inserted a bootable USB stick with Ubuntu 12.04, turned it on and off it went. No problems whatsoever.

Great alternative to a full-sized pc or laptop when you have a monitor and want to customize the platform for specific uses. Doesn't ship with an operating system already loaded so you can load you favorite programs or just what you need for you specific application. Comes with wireless & enough common interfaces run your stuff. Affordable enough to dedicate one for Internet & streaming video. Small enough to mount to the back of your monitor but be sure of enough cooling.

I'm using at my living room to watch movies. I installed XBMC on it. Works perfect.
Some of my colleagues had some problems with it, but the technical assistance solved their problems.
Not used the drivers form the CD. Download the newest from the ZOTAC website.

I bought this to connect to my television so that I don't have to connect my laptop all the time for certain movies that I watch on sites other than Netflix. To my amazement this tiny little box is a great device with nice performance. It came with a disc to install all the drivers and was easy to setup.
I love the nice little bluetooth and wifi adapter that came with it. I tried to evaluate other zotac machines with this, and I was little confused about AMD vs Intel at the beginning but settled for this. My concern was heating issue, but to my amazement this nice little box has it all and barely heats up. I haven't used this much so far but I checked after couple of hours usage and it was very nice and calm.
I also liked the one with blue ray player, but I already have a blue ray home theater so did not bother with it.

In short if you are looking for a small unit for light browsing, movies and light gaming this is a perfect box.

Only one small issue that I had was that the panel that it came with it to attach to back of television/monitor cannot be used with my Sony television, but I don't blame them much for this as there is a huge variety of monitors and televisions with different configuration at the back...so not all can be hooked up with the same. I had to place it on the table in a corner behind the screen.

PS: I love the tiny little remote that came with it.

Needed another nettop for our bedroom so we could finally watch TV in the bedroom. This little PC runs the MythTV just fine. Will buy another one in the future for our guest room.
