I was hoping to update and breathe a little life into an old P4 computer before handing it over to the kiddos. Originally the PC only had 512MB of memory and the original onboard video card. The PC was unbearably slow, almost to the point that it was unusable. After adding the Zotac video card and upgrading the RAM to 2GB this little PC smokes, for it's age and OS. Cannot say enough about this card. If you are looking to update an old PC this might be your ticket!

I originally ordered this for a low-end gaming computer for my girlfriend. Price was great and I was on a tight budget, so this card seemed like it would do the fix until I could buy her a better graphics card and I was going to use the card on my PC for a second monitor in the future.

That was until I ran into a problem.

Windows 7 (64-bit) will not detect this card in the PCI slot, not sure about 32-bit. PCI Standard PCI-to-PCI Bridge will become flagged and I have yet to see any way of fixing it on the internet. Zotac recommended a clean install and after that didn't work I took it out of the computer. nVidia and Zotac driver updates won't work with Windows 7 (64-bit) not being able to detect the card. From the research I've done there doesn't seem to be a fix to this problem yet. If this is fixed I'll be using it to run another monitor, because it really is a great little card. Windows website has that it is compatible with the Zotac GT 430 512mb PCI card, but its not and I wrote in stating that it didn't work.

Going to try and place the card in a Windows Vista PC and see how it works. If it works I won't be returning the card and will give it to a family member.

Pros:
Best PCI video card I could find
Cheap

Cons:
Won't work with Windows 7 (64-bit)
No fan (It will get hot. I'd suggest a case fan near it or buy a graphics card fan and mount it on it.)

I can't say I'm unhappy with the card, because I blame Windows 7 website for implying that it is compatible when its not. If this card works on Windows Vista, it'll be a great little card for my little brother to get into gaming with.

Needed this card for now until my next build....
This card performs very well at low temps and is a great accessory to an older machine.
My specs:
Windows XP Pro 64bit
Intel Dual Core Duo
4GB Vengence Ram
480w PSU
GT430
I have played many games like the 18 Wheels Of Steel series on high settings with fully anti aliasing. This card does not break a sweat, operating at temperatures around 30-45 degrees. I run a dual screen configuration to two 24'' HP LP2475w monitors, it will also play 1080p videos flawlessly. However, upon installation i did run into a small problem where the plate from the GPU was touching the pins for my high speed Ethernet port card. Simple fix i just shortened the pins and it was a go! Without a doubt i would definitely recommend this product to a friend. Additionally, i would recommend having a case with a side panel fan to provide adequate air flow for the card, since it is a fanless model.

I had an internal TV card with 4 Tuners in my PC and there wasn't enough room for a PCI-E graphics card, so, because this card has HDMI, I thought I would try this card in one of the PCI slots. The graphics were not acceptable, so I removed the TV Tuner, installed a "HIS Radeon HD 6670 1GB" PCI-E card and moved to two USB TV Tuners. Perfect. Great picture on my 60" HDTV when watching HD TV channels.

For this card, for some, the graphics capabilities may be acceptable, but for me, I've learned that a PCI card does not have the ability for really good graphics like a PCI-E cards does.
