You will notice this in claw or finger tip grips but not in palm grip.

So the shape I got used to quickly, but if you have big hands like me the size isn't too small, but it's something I would have made larger if I designed it.

I'd recommend it to anyone who needs a good gaming mouse or really anyone looking for a mouse that is responsive and could last a long time.

Having owned the same Intellimouse for YEARS (the white model with the back and forward buttons on either side of the mouse) and watching it finally start to deteriorate, I was worried when I started looking at some of the higher-priced mice out there. Having used quite a few mice on a temporary basis, none really seemed to feel as nice as the Intellimouse I had come to love. I've never been a fan of the Logitech mice, so I was avoiding those models, and a lot of the mice marketed to gamers either looked ridiculous with too many lights, weights, and bloated drivers; or seemed to have reliability problems (really? for mice in the >$60 range??).

Having scoured the net for a few days (looking at Steelseries' and Razer's mid-size mice), I came upon a review of another Zowie mouse. I immediately appreciated the understated looks and functionality of the mouse; the packaging was simple and straightforward, the design of the product didn't cater to marketing gimmicks like obscene DPI and laser sensors, and the drivers for the product were... NONEXISTENT! I saw this as a big plus as I didn't want to have to deal with some crappy program sitting in my system tray and making the learning curve unnecessarily steep.

Now that I've owned and used this mouse, I can say I REALLY like the look and the finish on it. It has a 'matte' feel that is really easy and comfortable to grab. The actual size of the mouse is smaller than the Intellimouse, which at first had me really worried (I hate using tiny mice like the HP one I use at work), but has proven to be a near-perfect size. The side buttons are a lot easier to distinguish between than other mice that have two buttons on the same side without looking and/or training.

I have been an fps gamer for quite a while, everything from call of duty, to battlefield, to several years of competitive counter-strike. Needless to say the mouse is one of the most important tools for any gamer. Ive used several including the logitech g5, g400, g500, the razer deathadder 3.5g, the razer lachesis, and now my favorite the zowie fk. What sets the zowie apart from the rest is build quality and simplicity. The zowie comes equipped with the ADNS 3090 optical, one of the best sensors on the market, and a true prediction free sensor, meaning that your crosshair goes only where you want it to. It has one of the lowest lift off distances at around 1.5 mm allowing for much easier flick shots. The V shape of the grip as opposed to the more common ^ means that the mouse can be picked up with minimal effort and it will make you faster. I should note that this mouse is quite small and though my hands are quite large and used to the fairly large g500, I found that the zowie fk fit perfectly in my palm, it really feels like an extension of my hand, however, I could see it being too small for some. The scroll wheel and actuation of the switches are excellent and are perfectly suited to me, though some dislike how stiff the wheel can be. The cord is also excellent, and though it isnt braided, it seems to be impossible to tangle.

The bottom line is that if you are an fps gamer and care about how well you play, this is one of the best mouses on the market. If you are an rpg/rts gamer, id recommend something completely different as this mouse doesnt come with many of the extras you may find on other mice more suited to those games.

If you do find that the shape of this mouse isnt to your liking and you prefer more of a palm grip, the zowie ec2 is pretty much identical hardware wise.

I've owned the 2014 edition of this mouse for almost 3 months now, and I find that the surface is starting to flake off under the right button. This is a fairly common defect with this mouse that I didn't know about when I bought it. The original packaging is long gone now so I can't return it which makes me pretty angry. I will definitely be contacting the manufacturer.

Other than the surface however, the mouse performs better than any mouse I've ever used - including my old Logitech MX518. It's light and comfortable to use. I have no complaints about the tracking and the mouse buttons just feel very natural compared to the MX518. It's a shame about the surface.

UPDATE:
I submitted an RMA request with Zowie but they never responded to it. After emailing Amazon I was allowed to return the mouse even though it was outside the 45 day return period AND I did not have the original packaging which makes me a happy customer. According to Zowie the problem was with a preliminary batch, so I ordered another one from Amazon. However, I've been using that mouse for about 1.5 months now and the flaking problem has started again. I will be keeping the mouse this time but I will probably not buy another Zowie mouse in the future.

I was in the market for a new mouse (had a old Razer Salamosa which I loved) and I wanted something similar. I end up buying a Nascita Feenix because I bought into the hype. I returned it within a day. Not that it isn't a great mouse but it was not claw/finger grip friendly, way too bulky. I did some more research then found this mouse. I love the feel it feels and navigates. It's exactly what I was looking for. Claw/finger gripers look no further!
