I placed my order in December 2010 for the 2011 growing season. I received my packet of seeds timely but the seed packet is dated for last year's (2010) growing season. I did sent a note to the seller and she responded back telling me it must have been a mistake but did not offer to replace or to refund. So far after three weeks, only one seed has germinated. I will write back and let you know whether any more seeds germinate.

First off, i'll admit, i've not gotten the yellow zucchini in this packet from seed to plate yet. The problem is slugs. Apparently the Golden Dawn plants are so irresistible to slugs that they'll cross any normal slug barrier to get to it. Copper keeps all my other plants safe, but not this one.

As for the Clarimore (light green) and Raven (dark green), they're fantastic. Nearly 100% germination rate, even for the seeds i saved from last year's seed packet. They grew well and fast in my garage this spring, on a heat pad under grow lights. When summer finally came, i transplanted them outside when the soil was about 65F. They sulked for a few days, then took off. (I used six inch peat pots for my starts, so i could just plant the whole pot in the garden when it was ready.)

There are a few of reasons i like these zucchini better than most, and here they are:

1) They taste good, even when you let them get pretty big. I don't bother picking them small anymore, since letting them get bigger does no harm. And if they get really huge (the 'hidden zucchini' problem), it's still fine. Just cut 'em in half, scoop out the seeds, roast them, and fill the center with tomatoes, croutons, cheese, and whatever ever else you want. Stick it under the broiler for a few minutes, and ta-daaaaa, dinner.

2) They grow well. Both the light green and dark green have a rather upright growth habit. It's more pronounced in the dark green - it seems to want to grow up into a column, and it sticks its leaves way out, so seeing when there's a zucchini big enough to harvest is easy. The light green grows a little bushier, so you do have to paw around a little to check for food, but i don't feel like i'm diving into a kelp bed just to get my dinner.

3) They produce well.

The package came on time!

The seeds germinated and were up in 7 days!

The early plant look dark green and strong.

The plant is still in the process of growing but everything looks great!

I would buy again!
