Excellent reference,

To understand the Zulus at war with the British in 1879 this book is invaluable. Ian Knught does a great job of breaking down the Zulu culture of the time and describing all the various elements- from the military organizaton to the weapons, sheilds and and accoutrements. A must read for "the other half of the picture" of the Zulu war. Only thing missing would be a glossary of all the Zulu terms at the back as a reference. The terms and words are scattered throughout the text and while generously described and detailed, can become confusing as one trys to remember them all.
