This is not a Dance video game... We call it an 'interactive motivational fitness session' set to great music with exotic locations and real people on screen that explode from a single instructor to what feels like a virtual Zumba classroom (as your skills improve). My kids have played it a few times since getting it last week and they gave it 4Stars. Their only complaint was they wished it was more technical on the rating of the moves...From what we can determine... It's designed to inspire players to keep pushing themselves to do the moves but more importantly not to get frustrated while they burn calories, unlock new songs/videos, etc which we guess is what the Zumba Nation is all about.

For those who want a fun experience burning calories as you would to an exercise product, this is a lot of fun. It loosely tracks calories burned and encourages players to push themselves to get the moves right but it is not for those looking to bust moves against each other in a technique showdown.

On the new Xbox One, using the enhanced Kinect.. this is amazing. It works very well and we are enjoying it as a fun home workout. It's way more fun and interactive that a workout video :)

3.0 out of 5 stars Gameplay is good, menu system is super frustrating. January 12, 2014
Platform for Display:Xbox One|Verified Purchase
I bought this game for my wife, who attends Zumba classes twice a week. Overall she seems to enjoy it.

Pros:
Good variety of songs.
Tracking seems to be improved over Xbox 360.
Good workout.

Cons:
Navigating the menu systems is very flustering. This is our biggest problem in the game. You can either navigate the menus using Kinect, or voice, but not using the controller. This makes navigating through menus a real chore. Creating a custom playlist is possible, but it's an exercise in shouting at your television for 45 minutes trying to get Kinect to recognize what you are saying. Why, Why, Why can't we use the controller.

My wife thinks it could be hard for a beginner.

3.0 out of 5 stars If only they had different developers :-) February 10, 2014

The actual dancing part is wonderful, my 3 year old and my wife all participate and have a blast! The problem is it only takes voice commands or hand signals, both of which are VERY sketchy. I've almost turned it off a couple of times due to the inability to get it to another song or workout. ALL things XBOX One should work with the controller IMHO.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great dance game December 5, 2013
Platform for Display:Xbox One
I have a background in dance as I did ballet for a number of years. This is definitely a dance game. You get these small stars on the screen when you're doing things particularly well, and it says "HOT!", etc on the side, and it's very encouraging, even for those that have 2 left feet.

This dance game is great for cardio burns rather than the usual boring workout dvds and awful dances that fitness trainers do as these are real dancers who are your teachers & it's choreographed by real working dancers.

I would suggest getting this game along with Just Dance 2014 - Xbox One which we also have & is a fun party game as well as a great dance game with amazing costumes.

The difference between Just Dance 2014 - Xbox One & this is that there are really beautiful costumes on the other one & hilarious dance moves. On Zumba Fitness World Party - Xbox One you have actual faces of different and diverse dancers, and, I would say more of a dance class energy to it.

I see that at the moment you can buy both here, or conversely you can download it to your xbox one Xbox One Console online & not bother with buying the actual discs.

Bottom line: this is way better to burn cardio than any boring repetitive disc out there. Every day you can dance to something different (this applies to both games). And, honestly, it will make you feel happy. I do it throughout the day, just one song and I get an immediate happy feeling. Again this applies to both games.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not easy February 14, 2014
Platform for Display:Xbox One|Verified Purchase
The steps are difficult to follow so people like me trend to stop playing. They could show the steps separately and slowly so we could learn and then do them during the game.

1.0 out of 5 stars No real instruction. March 9, 2014
By Smith
Platform for Display:Xbox One
The menus are designed to be navigated only via voice command or hand commands. Frequent erroneous selections are inevitable.

This game launches players into rapidly changing advanced dancing without any available instructions or slower playback. Because moves only repeat 2-4 times per dance, it is difficult to learn what is happening.

The learn the steps mode handles only a tiny fraction of the moves (2 moves per dance style). It is cumbersome to navigate as the viewer needs to return to the menu to navigate from one move to the next - getting back again to the navigation problems. Here the command to return to the main menu is a hand in the air. There is no way to prevent the system from mistaking dance moves for requests to return to the menu.

Perhaps this game is meant for more experienced players, but since it is the only version available for Xbox One, you will be unable to gain that experience unless you have another console.

The graphics are great.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother July 20, 2014
By Toni
Platform for Display:Xbox One
So very disappointed. I had Zumba on the 360, bought this when we got xbox one. The "instruction" is horrible and only shows one move at a time. It doesn't show you the steps of the dance first. It's very frustrating trying to learn the actual dances when I have no idea what the dance moves actually are. I guess the only way to learn the dances is to fail miserably and hop around in place a couple times through until you can piece it together yourself. It's incredibly frustrating and I have lost any want to play this game.
