This tennis game is a lot of fun. It includes:
• Net (12 feet long by just under 28” high when assembled)
• 2 rackets
• 2 balls
• Instruction guide
• Carrying case.

Set up is fairly simple. You bring the carrying case over to where you want to play. I’d estimate it weighs about 7 or 8 pound. You need enough space on a flat, hard surface to set up a 12 foot wide net. You can probably set it up in doublewide driveways (as I did) or even use grass. The balls are high density foam so they’ll bounce on grass, although I could see the bounce being diminished and a little more erratic on grass.

After taking the parts out of the case, set up the frame, which is tubular and the rods all fit together (somewhat tightly). You then put the net on the rods, adjust the tension and you are ready to go. The rods all fit together with spring lock buttons (pop up button on one rod, hole on another rod fit together). These look like something you see on a 2 part deck umbrella pole. You have two end pieces which stand on the ground with legs that are perpendicular to the net, and several short rods which fit together to run along the bottom of the net. The net tension is maintained by the length of these rods, and a little Velcro strap on each top end of the net.

All in all, an adult can assemble this without any tools in a matter of a few minutes, and I think a 9 or 10 year old could also.

I set up in my driveway, lengthwise, so that each player had about 10’ on their side, the driveway being about 20 feet wide. This was OK, but a little wider area would be nicer, especially the older the player’s age. The booklet says to allow 24 feet for a “court.

This Zume Games Tenniz Set is good for recreational play. It comes with two lightweight rackets and two orange-sized foam balls that are just bouncy enough.

I'm assuming that in the most common scenario, the net stand would require assembly before and disassembly after each play, so you'll need to have some idea what the processes entail. The net stand consists of two anchor end pieces to which you'll attach vertical and horizontal tubes to. The tubes are lightweight, and the "male" portion of the tubes have a tab that you need to press down on when attempting to link to the "female" portion of another tube; when the tab in one tube meets the hole in the other tube, the tab will "spring up", securing the two tubes together. The included user guide provides a graphic of how the various parts fit together, using the number label stickered on the tubes as visual hints. You don't have to worry about the number labels getting unglued from the tubes in the future, however, because the parts are easy to tell apart, and you'll know which parts should go where.

When fully assembled, the net stand will be about 28 inches tall and 12 feet wide. When I first tried to slip the net into the vertical end-posts, I thought I had received a net that fell short, but it did fit snugly after some gentle pulling / stretching.

You can use this set outdoors or indoors -- as long as there is enough space and a hard surface such as concrete, bare ground (with little to no grass) or tile flooring. According to the user guide, the ideal playing area is 24 feet long, but the court length can be varied according to the available space and skill level of the players .

It does require a nice, flat open space - and you have to keep your eyes on the foam balls, but lots of fun to play.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
Well, unfortunately, it is not summer at this time, but we did assemble the net and look at all of the contents in our living/dining area. It looks like it is going to be a lot of fun for both the kids and the adults when the weather is appropriate.

The kit itself is pretty complete. It comes with the 12 ft. net (easy to assemble, even for a an older child), two reduced-sized tennis rackets, two foam tennis balls, instructions, and, the best part, a nice case for storing everything away when you are not playing.

It is a great tool for youngsters learning tennis, but other than that, it is just a great set-up for some outdoor games with family and friends. Plus, I really like that it is an outdoor game that the children can play instead of a video game!

The whole kit is well made and very sturdy, considering the price, which at the time of this review is just under $55.00. My brother has a house on a lake with a nice wide and long driveway, so I am sure we will be taking this along during our summer visits, for everyone to enjoy. I would love to see a way to purchase additional rackets (as 4 would be nice). I understand from other reviews that you can readily purchase foam tennis balls from other suppliers, as that would be critical in being able to play this game over time.

All in all, a very nice alternative to video games, for about the same price as just 1 video game. A good deal that the whole family can enjoy.
