This does exactly what it is supposed to do: Charge the Zune. I'm not sure if you could use it to charge an ipod or any other device with a USB charging mechanism though. Also it's rather expensive considering that it's doesn't come with a sync cable (Apple's official one doesn't either, but there are third party AC adapters that are just as good that do). It IS rated for 100 - 240V input, so it should work outside the US as long as you have an American style two prong outlet.

EDIT: While I'm sure this is common knowledge you could use this to charge your ipod. Though a bit bigger than Apple's charger it's not quite as wide and as such may work better in an outlet. Plus its frosted black looks better than stark white.

EDIT 2: I've used this thing to charge Bluetooth headsets, cameras, Sansas, portable hard drives, and even an old Palm Z22. After all this time it still maintains a steady charge and refuses to break. This is perhaps one of the longest lasting and most useful purchases I've ever made!

Other than the Zune name on the package, this is simply an adaptor that plugs into the wall and provides a standard USB outlet on the other side. You can connect ANY USB device or cable into the USB outlet for charging purposes.

There are dozens of no-name, off brand adaptors that do the same thing on the market, but this was is of MUCH higher quality than most/all of those. Trust me: You don't want an el-cheapo no-name unit. They produce unstable voltage and can ruin your device. This is a better designed unit. Is it worth the $30 list price? No. But at the bargain closeout price that it's being offer for her (three dollars as of the time of this writing), it's a steal.

I have no problem asserting that for that money, this is the best quality AC-> USB adaptor you can buy.

Just remember that if you actually DO want to use this to charge your Zune, you'll also need to buy the Zune sync cable (sold separately, or included with Zune originally).

It does the job. It charges the Zune from an electrical outlet without needing to be connected to a PC or XBox 360. As noted earlier, you do need the sync cable to connect the Zune to the charger. It seems a little over-sized for what it is, but then this matches the fact that it's over-priced.

This is a must if you own a Zune player, since this product allows you to charge your Zune player without plugging it in to your computer.

Note that this product includes only the AC adapter but no additonal cabling to attach to the Zune. So if you were thinking about having one cable to hook to your PC and another to charge if you are away from you PC, remember to take the Zune cable with you. For $29.95 I expected them to include the 25 cent cable.

I decided to spend the money for this "official" charger. It's worth it. The charger works well and I haven't had any problems with it.

I got it specifically for when I went on vacation, but to be honest, I rarely use it now. I normally just use the USB cord and connect to my computer...but I think it's good to have!

What can you say...you plug it into the wall and it charges your Zune. I used it on the 30GB 1st Gen Zune without any issues. The only bad thing is that it doesn't come with a cable, but I actually have no problem with this. I already have a box full of extra cables.

This thing is so awesome....I have my Zune hooked up to a small sound system in my kitchen and pretty much keep it plugged in there most of the time. I hated having to fire up the laptop to charge it every time it died. Now I just keep this plugged in right there by it and it's so easy to recharge when needed. AND because it's a USB plug, it'll charge anything that uses a USB cord. Itouch, etc. Wonderful little thing, you can take it anywhere, fits in your purse!

I had been looking for an AC adapter USB charger and happened upon this unit from a blog post. I got it for my iPod Touch and could not be happier. It's a sturdy, well built unit that does the job well. Highly recommended for all your USB charging needs. BTW its output is 5V, 1.5A. Great unit. (you do have to supply your own cable but you should have one with your unit already)
