The Zune dock elegantly displays your Microsoft Zune media player anywhere in your home or office for easily customizable media access. I received this item as a gift and, out of the box, it is little more than a sleek decorative puck. In other words, the dock does not include *any* cables, not even the Zune sync cable. Oh, it will hold the Zune upright though. It will also hold the Zune remote (sold *separately*.)

Once I collected the cables I needed (sync, plus either A/V or 3.5 to 3.5) the dock is working fine. I have nothing against the product, I just wish it came with at least the basic accessories out of the box.

When you get the docking station, you will notice a small slit on the inside wall of the remote slot. Slip a knife or screwdriver into the slot slightly and pull up. The mirror cover pops off. Underneath it is solid black so it doesn't look like you took it apart. Without the cover, the Zune slot is big enough to fit the 80gb Zune perfectly.

I bought this dock with the intention of using it my car as a drop-in interface for my Zune. I used a couple of strips of 3M Dual-Lock (much stronger alternative to Velcro) to mount it on my dashboard. I was concerned at first about the Zune flying out of the socket when going around turns or over bumps, but it's been well over a month and the thing never budges!

For the price of the dock, you can't beat the value and convenience for use in a car install!
