4.0 out of 5 stars Does work with 80gb Zune
When you get the docking station, you will notice a small slit on the inside wall of the remote slot. Slip a knife or screwdriver into the slot slightly and pull up. The mirror cover pops off. Underneath it is solid black so it doesn't look like you took it apart. Without the cover, the Zune slot is big enough to fit the 80gb Zune perfectly.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decorative hockey puck
I received this item as a gift and, out of the box, it is little more than a sleek decorative puck. In other words, the dock does not include *any* cables, not even the Zune sync cable. Oh, it will hold the Zune upright though. It will also hold the Zune remote (sold *separately*.)

Once I collected the cables I needed (sync, plus either A/V or 3.5 to 3.5) the dock is working fine. I have nothing against the product, I just wish it came with at least the basic accessories out of the box.

I bought this dock with the intention of using it my car as a drop-in interface for my Zune. I used a couple of strips of 3M Dual-Lock (much stronger alternative to Velcro) to mount it on my dashboard. I was concerned at first about the Zune flying out of the socket when going around turns or over bumps, but it's been well over a month and the thing never budges!

For the price of the dock, you can't beat the value and convenience for use in a car install!

1.0 out of 5 stars WTF, March 13, 2009
This review is from: Zune Dock (Electronics)
I was overjoyed to receive this product as it was going to help me organize my desk. I had all of the cables so I expected it to work flawlessly. But when I hooked it up, I was disappointed to find that it did not work...at all. It didn't charge or sync with my computer despite the fact that it had the correct software. I would not suggest buying this product based on my experience.

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't come with power supply!, August 19, 2007
This review is from: Zune Dock (Electronics)
I should have read the other reviews. This is just a base and comes with no cables and no AC adapter. Sigh.

Btw, if you buy the power supply then you still need to use your USB sync cable--the power supply won't connect directly to the Zune. All rather ill conceived I'd say.

The 2nd generation ZUNE's don't fit very well. Buy the V2 for use with zune 80 & 120.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice and simple, October 25, 2007
This review is from: Zune Dock (Electronics)
The zune dock came bundled with zune purchase, so it was free and a good deal to begin with. I don't think I would have bought it otherwise. The dock did not come with its own USB cable so it does seem a bit pricey if you were to purchase it by itself. Of course you will have had a cable already since the zune comes with it. After using it for about a month I can honestly say the following: Aesthetics are nice and nicer than an Apple dock. You wouldn't mind leaving it out on your desk. The dock pin port interface is buttery smooth. All it takes is a gentle one handed placement of the zune on the dock and it registers connected. I don't think its a total necessity since you can use the USB cable by itself, but its more about convenience than anything else.

5.0 out of 5 stars Zune dock, June 3, 2011

Nice cheap Zune doc. I have a few of these to hold and charge my Zune at work and at home. Very handy. Just be careful pluggint your Zune into it. You have to have it on the right angle to push it on. I was afraid that I may damage the connector, but that has not happened. When it is on this thing it seems to be loose, but it is not. Recommend it.
