Good buy if you can get them cheap,

This review is from: Zune Premium Earphones (Electronics)
Being a DAP junkie I found a good deal for a Zune 30gb player and decided to give it a try. So far pretty good but the included headphones as usual suck. I usually use my V-moda bass frequency earbuds with my Ipod,Zune and Iphone. But I wanted to try something new, so I decided on the Zune Premium earbuds. Not wanting to pay the $40.00 the Big Box stores were selling them for I found them for about $20.00 online new.
First, the carry case is very cool. It's about time somebody made a decent carrying case for headphones (Shure does a good job I'll admit to). The headphones themselves seem sturdy as any other "mid range" headphones. The cables are a little thin but unless your using these while doing some sort of extreme sporting you should be fine. The 3 earbud sizes that come with them is a nice touch (seems more companies are doing that for the mid to upper range of headphones). The Sound? Well after about 3 days of burning them in I found that they were pretty decent. Not as good as my V-Modas but I would say just as good as Sony's or Apples "premium" headphones in the $40-$50 range. Good Bass and Mids, decent on the high end. I would say if you can find them cheap like I did then pick them up, but don't pay the

The earphones are very good and are quite an improvement over the stock earphones that come with the Zune. There are 3 different sized pads, so this should work for most users who aren't adverse to in-canal earphones. It includes a plastic case that keeps the earphones and pads secure, but is a little unwieldly to wind the cord up and jam it all in. The base is strong and the treble is good, and since these are in-canal earphones, they do an adequate job of blocking out some noise, though they are not noise-canceling.

Anyone writing a negative review for these isn't using them properly.
You have to insert it fully into your ear to create a seal. If this is not done, it sounds terrible. If it is, they sound much better than similar earbuds in the same price range. As long as they create a seal in your ear, the bass response is unbeatable and a great deal of outside sound is blocked. This is what the extra, different-sized tips in the bottom part of the case are for. There is no electronic noise-cancelling system, it is a function of the design.

1st The sound quality is awesome over the standard factory head set. For the size and price you get allot. Your music will be brought to life because the sound and bass is so crisp.
2nd The ear buds are very comfortable. To add to that it comes with a larger and smaller set of buds if you need more or less comfort. 3rd They have the same icey tone to them that the Zune has too. So it adds to it's sexy. Finally the only set that compares is a BOSE set. But they cost $20.00 more and are not quite as nice looking while in your ear. So you should be satisfied if your looking for a quality set of ear buds.

The sound you get from these earphones is incredible! The way they fit your ears helps to isolate the noise. The level of bass output from these headphones is impressive as well as the general sound clarity. I'm sure if you were to pay $100 or more for a pair of headphones they'd probably sound a little better, but for $40 I don't think you can beat the value. I just bought my Zune and decided to pick these up too. Even if you don't own a zune you might consider purchasing these headphones. Highly recommend these headphones.

Good sound, bad earpiece,

The earphones have a good sound quality but they drop out of my ear no matter the size of the earpiece. After two days I was going for a refund, but I decided to give them one more chance, so I changed the zune earpiece for the sony ones (sony ear-bud). Now they fit very well in my ears, very comfortable with great sound. I have a meizu mp3 player that sounds amazing with these earphones.

These earphones worked great until the right earphone just quit working about a week after receiving them. I am willing to understand that this could be a defect and requested a replacement pair from Zune support, which they granted. Just an FYI, Zune support is one of the more bizarre customer service experiences you will have. No need to go into the details here, but I am awaiting my replacements and hopefully they will work as well as these did before they broke.
Also, I do like the carrying case as it keeps the earphones from tangling as these particular ones were prone to do. Definitely try all of the earpiece sizes because only one of the three came close to fitting in my ears.

These earphones fit your ears well. They have great clarity. I think $40 is too much to pay, because you can get other name brands (Philips, JVC, etc.) which will perform equally as well for $20-$25. But if you can get these Zune's for $25 or so, you have made a good purchase.

I just received my headphones today, and i plugged them in to my ZUNE and started playing my music right away. Let me just say, AMAZING. These are a higher step the the earbuds that came with my Zune. I have found out that the further I plug them into my ear the better the sound is and the better they block out the background noise. so far the only this that I have found to be bad about it is when inserting them in my ears is a bit uncomfortable, but once their in, their in. they aren't moving anywhere. I was reading all the other reviews and I can't say they suck, because they don't. They sound great.

The stock earphones that came with the Zune were really good, but they hurt my ears after listening for more than 30 minutes. I got a pair of Panasonic earbuds, and they sound awful. They had no bass response and didn't feel comfortable.
I finally got the Zune premium earphones. These are the BEST I've ever owned. They have 3 sets of cushions to choose from, and they cancel noise VERY well. Get these if you can! The bass is punchy and the highs are very clear. If they fall out of your ears, you aren't putting them in properly. |
