I first got a Zune 2 years ago for xmas. My hubby and I loved it so much we'd fight over which one of us got to use it. This year, I bought the special edition Gears of War edition for my hubby since he loves that game.

The best part of Zune is the firmware updates. His zune came with the latest updates that included games. When I plugged mine "old" zune in, I got the update and recieved the games also. So no matter what, your zune can only get better!

I have friends that have iPods and they always drool over my Zune. The songs are cheaper also overall. And since it's Micrsoft, if you have any Microsoft, Xbox, or Zune points, they all work the same so you can use them to buy songs if you want. All it takes is a Windows Live ID. WE LOVE OUR ZUNES!

This is my 3rd Zune from Microsoft. I used up all the memory on my 80 gig, so I decided to buy a Zune 120, and also decided to shell out the extra 20$(?) for the Gears of War Content. I must say, this Zune is very sexy. It's sleek, shiny, and has has an awesome logo on the back. The only thing I was disappointed with was the standard headphones. They sound good, but the premium ones that came with my 80 gig are exceptionally better. If you are a gamer and want a Zune, this one is definitely the one to get, even for the Gears of War swag that's comes along with it.

I had a 160GB iPod Classic and I was rather impressed with it but then after seeing friend's Zunes and how much more user friendly and sleek they looked always wanted one larger than an 80GB....then Microsoft answered my prayers and made not only a 120GB monster they made one with Gears of War 2 stuff on it!! I finally jumped upon the Zune band wagon and I'm far more impressed with the Zune than the iPod....it feels really nice in your hand and the iPod seems much heavier....the Zune also seems less prone to destruction such as scratches and the likes as the iPod is cromed out and too shiny all around....but the Zune's laser etched back and design is less scratch prone and much nicer looking all together.....the "Crimson Omen" on the Gears 2 edition is extra nice...giving it the look gamers and Gears of War fans will drool over......sound quality wise I will give the edge to the Zune as well...for some reason I was listening to my iPod with Bose headphones and noticed far more distortion and crackling in the headphones than the Zune which seemed pretty clear no matter what I listened to....and in my truck through the auxilary port the Zune also seemed to sound more clear and had more precise bass...not to mention the Zune's screen is about double the iPod's size and has better resolution it seems and the Gears of War pictures allows for some cool customizations.....all in all the Zune is a true iPod killer as someone mentioned before...I'm thoroughly impressed with the Zune functionality, sound quality, interface, and over all quality...not to mention the Zune Tunes is every bit as easy to use....drag and drop...a great MP3 player Microsoft has won this old iPod lover over! To protect your investment I recommend a screen protector and the clear Speck Dragon Toughskin so you can still see the ultra-cool "Crimson Omen" etched on the back of your awesome Zune. :-)

In Sept of 2011 I bought a new 120 GB Zune Gears of War 2 Special edit. Within less than 2 months this device stopped working. It displayed a message that said "contact customer service." Well good luck trying to get customer service from Microsoft!! Microsoft no longer lists a customer service number on the website. They want you to troubleshoot by using the website and the forums. Most of the forum are fellow customers complaining about the lack of customer service. After searching the website for several hours, I finally found the online chat service. Here is where I would like to add that I am an IT professional, so I feel like I know my way around a computer, (and a hint to anyone that is trying to find this online chat; enter through the accounts and billing tab and select more options). The online chat for customer service is well hidden, deep within the website. The online customer service was quite painful, took several days to finally get everything in place for me to return the device for repairs. Almost 3 weeks later, I received a refurbished replacement model. I used the refurbished/replacement device for less than two weeks and this device quit working, and displayed the same "contact customer service" error message. I again went through the whole painful process with online chat support, but this time I was blessed with a rude, condescending agent, who seemed to really hate his job (but I really can't blame him for this part). I was told that the original warranty would be transferred to the replacement device. When I went to place a repair request, the website stated that the model's warranty had expired Feb 2010. O.K., this is a problem since my original purchase was Sept. 2011, and I received the refurbished device in Dec. 2011.Read more ›

My 120gb Gears of War 2 Zune worked great for only 1 1/2 years. I took extreme care of my Zune not a single scratch. Then all of a sudden "ERROR 5 Contact support" displayed on my screen. After careful research I found this is a common problem with Microsoft's 120gb Zune. I called to see if Microsoft would stand behind this item. No. They wanted to charge me $170 for a refurbished unit. My original GOW2 Zune can not be fixed or ever restored with the pre-loaded GOW2 content that was included. It is and always will be gone forever. As a consumer I value my money and spending $250 for an item that will only last 1 1/2 years is not worth the investment, furthermore lets not forget all the music you purchased that is lost. The Microsoft Zune comes with a one year Warranty. Microsoft knows they have a problem with this product and discontinued production. At no fault of my own this product failed. I am very loyal to Microsoft but after this experience I realize Microsoft will take my money and not return any loyalty back to the customer. If you really have to own this product protect yourself and buy an "Extended Warranty" otherwise "Do not buy".Zune 120 GB Video MP3 Player, Gears of War 2 Special Edition (Black)
