Was suspicious of the drastically lowered price to 60$. I needed a small deba knife for fabricating small fish and thought I would roll the dice on this one. This knife is a steal. Any chef can see that this is a remarkable deal. It must be in low demand/overstocked or something, but I highly recommend it if you are in need of a solid, one-piece construction, small deba knife used for deboning small fish and poultry.

I would recommend anyone to buy this knife. Solid VG-10 is better than Damascus wrapped VG-10. Stronger. Feels solid. I used one today to separate a whole chicken, it only took 10 minutes. This knife is almost like Honesuke knife but more versatile, it can also be use for cutting small fishes. Extremely sharp, beautifully made fron handle to knife blade. Plus at $59, what a deal.

I also picked this up when it was $60 and I agree that it is a fantastic knife -- if you can get it at this price. While the steel is amazing and I'm very satisfied, it has to be said that this size has a very specific function and while it is very useful for chicken and small to medium size fish, I found its usefulness limited when breaking down a larger six pound salmon. I used it, but there were some cuts where I shifted back to my bigger Gokujo or Chef's Knife. It was also a bit overkill when cleaning smaller trout. In other words, this isn't likely to become your "go to knife," but it can serve a useful niche in your knife collection.
