5.0 out of 5 stars I'm cookin' for a livin'...
This is the perfect size for a versatile paring knife and the 4 Star line is the most underrated line on this sight. When a rookie comes to work in my kitchen and asks me what line of knives to invest in I send 'em here for 4 Starz. These are the knives I started with in 1979 and I still use an 8 inch chef's.
A bargain in price, indestructable, sharp, easy to keep...

3.0 out of 5 stars Paring Knife
Not as good as a five star but still a good knife. Doesn't hold a sharp edge as good as it could.

A bargain in price, indestructable, sharp, easy to keep sharp, attractive and built since 1976...timeless.

Buy this one, an 8 inch chef's, an 8 inch bread, a 5.5 inch boning knife, a 10 inch steel and the Santoku. Add more as needed. Buy 'em now!

We be givin' the max...5 mojo*z

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-have, June 10, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin Four Star 4-Inch High-Carbon Stainless-Steel Paring Knife (Kitchen)
Excellent weight and shape, strong blade, very versatile. I've had this knife for twelve years--and for several of those years, in my poor-student days, it was the only knife I owned, apart from a couple of cheap hand-me-down steak knives. Now I have a block full of Wusthof-Trident (a gift) but this Henckels is still the knife I use the most.

5.0 out of 5 stars my favorite knife, July 4, 2000

I keep signing onto this site because I'm hoping my favorite knife will go on sale. I love the one I have so much, I'd like to buy a couple more. This is a great knife, my favorite, the one I use most.

5.0 out of 5 stars The only knife most amateur chefs would need, February 25, 2007
This review is from: Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin Four Star 4-Inch High-Carbon Stainless-Steel Paring Knife (Kitchen)
If I could choose only one knife for a kitchen, this would win it hands down. This knife does everything well including:

1)Shear apples. The knife can cut through apple skins like butter. It is also small and handy enough to shape cookie dough.

2)Slice through bread. I have a decent bread slicer but this knife is better at the task. It is also a great pizza slicer.

3)Slice through meat. This knife can slice through meat even better than my $100+ Shun Santoku.

If you are on a budget and can own only one knife, buy this one. Chances are, this knife is more than adequate for whatever cutlery needs you have.

5.0 out of 5 stars The right knife for a lot of jobs, January 8, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin Four Star 4-Inch High-Carbon Stainless-Steel Paring Knife (Kitchen)
While the shorter paring knives are more commoly seen, this 4" paring knife is actually a better choice for many jobs. In our kitchen it gets many times the use of either the 3" paring knife or 6" utility knife. If I could only have two knives to do everything, I would choose this 4" paring knife and my Kershaw Shun granton edge Santoku. I use both of these more than any of the rest of our knives.

The Henckels Four Star is a well regarded premium German knife line whose pros and cons have been covered endlessly over the years, so I'll not revisit them. While I love the razor edge of my Kershaw knives, I prefer the more rugged durability of the Heckels Four Star for my paring and utility knives.

Great knife. .... It's the most used knife in my kitchen. Wonderful all-purpose paring knife. And, it's dishwasher safe. I've had mine for years.

This is the best and most useful knife I have ever owned. My hands are small and I delight at a nice well balanced untensil such as this one. Excellent, everyone needs one of these if they spend any time in the kitchen !!!!!!!!!!!!

I just recently purchased this knife and I was blown away. I am used to crappy knives - you know, those hand-me-downs that always get chucked into the back of the drawer... well not anymore! This knife is very sharp and easy to maintain.

I started collecting Henckels Four-Star series because I find that the price is right and the quality is very high.

My mother-in-law just bought me a set for my birthday and these are the best knives that I have ever used! They cut so easily, if you are used to having really bad knives these are such a treat. My grandmother has a set that has lasted her many years. These really are life time knives.

In recient years I have worked on aquiring quite a selection of Henckle knives. I started with a set of cheep international series Henckle knives, but a some point needed a "step up". I purchased a single four star knife, used it for a week, and have been hooked ever since. I have used most "as seen on TV" brands... well I am still hooked on four star. The only competition they have with me is their own Pro S series. Eargonomic handles, easy to maintain, and a great design for use in the kitchen.
