Now I have a full strength Wi-Fi throughout my house.

In the Network > Wireless LAN > General > Name (SSID), do NOT use the default name of your router.

When connected to it, I would randomly lose connectivity every now and then.

Very frustrating to get it to work. All that pushing on the router and ZyXEL did nothing! Here are my steps - yeah really detailed because, you know you want that - on my mac:
1) turned off the wireless on the mac via system preferences (same general steps for a PC)
2) plugged in the ZyXEL to a power socket, turned on, attached included ethernet cable to the ZyXEL, plugged the other end of the cable into the computer
3) go to system preferences and turn on the ethernet
4) opened a browser and logged into http://192.168.1.2 - it will ask for a login name and type admin, the password is 1234
5) chose my wireless by name (from the list) and then just clicked next, next, until it said finished
6) turned off ZyXEL, removed ethernet cable, unplugged each end of ethernet and put away
7) went back to system preferences and turned airport (or wireless for PC) back on

now you are ready to roam around trying different sockets. DO NOT push the router button OR the ZyXEL button now, just find a socket with a good signal.

OK - for me, go downstairs and plug the ZyXEL in
My PC notebook showed a great signal (5 bars) but loaded web pages painfully slow (wtf?) so I tried another socket and wow it is FAST now. Went from 2 bars to 5 bars
Tivo went from 43% to 91%
Roku went from 'fair' to 'good'
iPhone loads wifi amazingly fast downstairs now.
I did have to turn off wi-fi and then turn on wifi for iphone
I am happy amazon provides these reviews. I got about 50% of the instruction from one review but just not enough.

Plugged the WRE2205 in. Pressed the WPS buttons on router and it, and it worked seemlessly. Web app for administration alerted me to the fact that my Wireless N router is no longer sending on the 802.11n protocol, but all is working fine with b/g. I'll have to replace my Cisco LinkSys WRT310N router to get all of the bandwidth I want, but no complaints on the WRE2205. The WRE2205 even alerted me when the location I had it in the house was too far away from the router to boost the signal strength, and when it was within range. Good small tech!

Note: The Quick Setup Guide says that the default LAN address is 192.168.1.2, but it lies (as of the 9/2012 product release). It defaults to DHCP so you'll need to check your router for the actual address of the device to administer it over the web app where you can reset the LAN address to 192.168.1.2 if you so choose. Note that if that address is not in the range of your router's NAT address list, you won't see it on the LAN, so be cautious in changing it away from DHCP. And if you hardwire your LAN address on the device, you'll need to tell the router it is a dedicated address.

I had a hard time connecting with the base Verizon DSL router. I had to call tech support (person who helped was good). However it worked for a while but lost its connection later.
I had to return the product.

Italy uses a lot of concrete walls in the construction of their homes and this thing powers right through them. I may buy another one for upstairs!

This is a review on the first day of use, I will update this later

Likes: It actually works! My wireless router is in the basement on the left side of my house. I needed access from the second floor right side of my house. After setting up this device I went from 1 wi-fi bar to 4 wi-fi bars (a full set) or, using the WiFi Analyzer on my phone, from -90 db to -30 db. So far, there are no glitches in service. It took 5 minutes to set up using the supplied Ethernet cable. I http's to the device, picked wireless setup, selected my Wifi network, it asked for the password, said it worked, then rebooted. I unplugged the device, took it upstairs, plugged it back in, and had great Wi-fi access from the upstairs.

Grips: When I opened the 'Quick Start' paper, it looked like this device would only work with ZyXel wireless routers. But the other side of the 'Quick Start' guide showed how to configure to any other wireless network using the Eithernet cable. Second issue with the instructions they used the grey on white color scheme which is hard to read. Whatever happened to black on white high contrast writing?
