This review is from: Zyliss 10.25-in. Easy Spin Salad Spinner, White.
This spinner works great. It is well balanced, easy to clean, spins easily, keeps spinning after you release the handle and has rubber contact on the bottom to secure it to any surface. Money well invested!

My daughter recently moved and could not find her salad spinner; she was at a total loss. She is happy once again with the Zyliss. She really loves the pull mechanism and the large size.

great! very difficult to find on the retail market at home- I had it before and used it for a long time before replacing it with one of the newer models. The newer model didn't hold up as well and had to be replaced in a much shorter time.
Very fast shipping!

This spinner works well -- but you've got to get the hang of it. Since the lid does not clamp down, you have to hold it down. And to get the "spin cycle" going you have to do some pulling. I'm left-handed, so I place my right hand firmly over the label on the lid. With my left hand, I pull the cord very rapidly a dozen or more times in succession (like fast pumping, only you're pulling) to activate a good fast spin. There's a 'brake' button to stop it short when the spin cycle slows down. I remove the top, pour out the water, reassemble, and do the same thing once again. Usually the second spin gets the lettuce as dry as it needs to be. And the lid DOES come apart for cleaning and drying. Squeeze together the rubber flanges that hold the two pieces together in the center of the underside of the lid, and pull gently on the little plastic handle that bridges over that hole. Comes right off. To put the pieces back together again, just snap it in place over the rubber.

Little Known Fact,
By So. Cal. RVer (Long Beach, CA United States) - See all my reviews

I've been using this spinner for years, and it is one of the most-used, convenient, time-saving, money-saving utensils in my kitchen. The little-known fact is that, once the lettuce has been spun out, you can pour off the water and replace the lettuce in the spinner, put the lid back on, and put it in the refrigerator. It acts as a "humidifier" lettuce keeper and the lettuce stays fresh for up to two weeks.
