Pros:
- sturdy with just a little flex
- not slippery to hold when wet

Cons:
- short jaw length doesn't work for lobster claws


I was excited to try out this cracker on lobsters here in New England. The cracker works great for the arms, but not for the large claw. The jaw length is too short so the spacer ends up punching a rectangular hole in the claw without cracking it much. Probably works great for crab legs, but not good for lobster.

I haven't tried cracking nuts with it yet, but it seems sturdy enough for the job.

We just moved to Florida and my husband is constantly coming home with crab that he catches. Pliers don't work so well, duh, so I got on line and found these. Husband came home with 25 crabs and the Zyliss seafood cracker and OXO pickers arrived on the same day. I wasn't sure what to expect, but they worked excellent. Highly recommend!

A great tool for working with Snow Crab legs! More powerful, yet more tactile than the stainless steel type. I was always cracking the claws too aggressively with those and leaving a lot of shell shards to peel off. With this orange boy I can put just the right amount of pressure to let me crack the shell and get to the chunk of deliciousness inside. I wish I had gotten more of these. Everyone wants to use it and I don't like waiting to get my cracker back when I'm in Snow Crab mode.

I've used the stainless steel one, the fancy ones that shape like a crab claw, ones that hotel restaurants use, etc. NONE can compare to this one. The grip is firm and comfortable. The handle is wide enough so it won't hurt your palm. The hinge is well built so it can crack shells with ease. It is made of high quality plastic, really high quality. My dad is also a seafood expert, and he was fighting with my sister over this seafood cracker my mom bought at a seafood restaurant in Alaska. I wrote down the brand name of this cracker and got some extra ones for myself and my friends at Amazon. This is really the best seafood cracker! I love it!

This is my holy grail for eating crabs. I just got my shipment today and I tried it on some leftover crabs from a few days before it worked PERFECTLY!

I barely applied any pressure and *Cracked* it was good to go. Now I'm gonna go buy 3 more for the family :)

I have never seen crackers so rugged. These are extremely high quality crackers, you could probably crush metal with these beasts. If you have a huge feast or are big into cooking don't even question or look elsewhere these are top notch.

The Zyliss seafood cracker is the best that I have used. It is sturdy, light weight, easy to hold, and very functional with two jaws of different sizes. Also, the color with the little lobster logo adds to the charm.

I just want to say that I am very happy with my Zyliss seafood cracker and it works great cracking all kind of nuts.
I would recommend it it anyone! And the price is very reasonable.

Works great, and is an excellent value for the money. I carry it with me whenever I go out to a seafood restaurant.

When it is crab season in the Pacific Northwest we enjoy it often. I wanted to replace our old metal nutcrackers.
I was disappointed in these as they broke the crab shell in to small pieces that got in to the crab meat. These may work better with lobster and that is why I gave them 3 stars instead of 2.
