This is a nice innovation. When the screw enters the cork the prongs will cause it to move up after a certain amount of turns. You turn clockwise the entire time. Turning is easy - every child can do it. The cork comes out quickly.

Really well made. We bought one for a gift set and have got to help put to use. It's really well made, fits on different types of bottles, has the other tolls like the drip catcher, corker and thermometer. Nothing cheap about this set - it's really nice and works like a charm - just twist and the cork is lifted up and out.
