This is a very well-designed spatula. In particular, there's no seam between the head of the spatula and the handle--the silicone is molded continuously from the head to halfway up the handle. (I hate the seam on other spatulas that collects batter, etc, and is almost impossible to clean.)

For the same reasons the other reviewers already gave. Just a lot of nice little thought went into this gadget.
1. tapered blade which isn't too stiff, isn't too flexible.
2. blade curved on one side, straight on other.. so it will follow the contour of a bowl or get down in the corner of a straight sided pan.
3. heat resistance seems fine to me and I mostly use it to cook with.
4. seemless blade/handle so no place for grime to get trapped.

All in all, good stuff for a cheap price. I'm getting a second one.

This is the greatest spatula- I use it all the time for cooking on the stove and it never melts like other cheap spatulas. Also, it's never stained, even after sitting in tomato sauce! Also great for the regular old functioning of scraping out batter and whatnot. I love this thing!

This spatula has a blade that thins out to a very flexible edge. The sturdy, long handle makes for an easy grip. This cleans out a mixing bowl like no one's business. Worth EVERY penny. Trust me.

I really liked this spatula in the beginning, but after just 6 months of very gentle use its head developed cracks and chipped.

I have several of these in my "gift" closet. They are great to give to ANYONE. I made carmels at the holidays. Stirring and stirring and stirring hot, bubbling sugar. I used this spatula so the sugar wouldn't stick and burn. Great tool. Cleans up easily. I like how the head connects to the handle.

I love this spatula. I have had no problems at all. They make a long one too, which is great for spreading frosting and getting into jars.

I was disappointed with this spatula after having generally good experiences with Zyliss products in the past. After a few modestly heavy loads, the hard plastic of the upper handle and the soft soft silicone of the lower blade started to separate and seem like they'll be coming apart soon. I had hoped it would be more durable.

The shaft is a bit too flexible for anything other than very light non-sticky foods. Excellent head design and great silicone.

I have used about a billion different spatulas and this is by far the best. Got it after Alton Brown recommended it and have been hooked ever since. This is great for folding delicate creams or eggs whites, scraping down mixer bowls. It is more than worth the money.
