The Zyliss Easy Chop can chop and mince foods into the smallest of pieces with ease. The more you press, the smaller the pieces. Onions can be minced so finely that they are nearly undetectable by sight in sauces but still add desired flavor. And, onion odors are contained! The new design, however, means that I can no longer use the Easy Chop on my cutting board as I did with the older model. All foods must be inserted in the Smart Base before chopping. The rubber bottom on the Smart Base does help prevent slipping and reduces noise but I question how long it will last with repeated washings in the dishwasher. Only time will tell.

I am pleased with my recent purchase of this item. Unit is super easy to take apart and clean. Very easy to use. One must bang top down hard (strong spring) to get proper rotation of items being chopped. The bottom part can be detached, filled with item to chop, reattach top and begin chopping. Easy, neat and compact to use. Pressing down on the top compresses tool which moves the choppers down into the lower section of the unit and when unit is fully compressed, the red slidder button will lock the unit in the compressed state for better storage.

We have gone through and broken 2 other types of hand choppers in the last year. The plastic tends to break during chopping. This one is sturdy with thicker plastic. It is lasting quite well. If you don't want to use an electrical food processor and have small chopping jobs, this is the best by far.

The Zyliss Food Chopper is excellent. It works really well and I would buy it again. Chopps smaller quantities better than larger ones. And chopps "harder" items (e.g. onions, garlic, ginger) better than "softer" items (e.g. tomatoes).

I love this chopper! It is so easy to clean and the possibilities are endless. I have even used it to chop meats. The smart base is great when you want to keep all of your chopped items from spreading all over the cutting board.

I bought this for my mom and she started using it during the traditional candy making in my family. Well-- her sisters loved it. They wanted one too. Since this chopper has the rotating motion while chopping it does wonders on nuts and hard candies. It will chop them to a fine mist if you don't stop. It also comes with an extra storage cup. And with the smart base you can either chop on the table or use the flexible base or use the extra plastic cup.

This chopper seems to be a well thought out design. It comes apart easily so that all the nooks and crannies can be easily cleaned. I haven't tried it in the dishwasher, but it feels like it would survive that fine.

The base design is quite nice - you can chop in the cup on the rubber lid, you can chop in another plastic cup, or you can chop on your cutting board. That gives a lot of flexibility for various foods.

So far this has been very handy, and is probably a bit nicer to work with than a mini-food processor. I'd recommend it.

This is a good chopper. The blades do a thorough job and it's comfortable to use. It comes with a rubber base that you are supposed to use to reduce the noise and impact to your hand, but I have not used it because I am firmly convinced I would wind up with black rubber chunks in my food. Other than that, it's a great product.

Never heard of Zyliss before, until my husband and I saw it among the many choices of choppers on Amazon.com. The description caught our interest, and after reading all the wonderful reviews, decided to buy it. That was one of the best purchasing decisions we ever made. My husband does all the cooking and he has spent many hours standing and chopping veggies for his recipes. I suggested that he get a chopper to save him time and energy. He is very picky about his cooking "tools." This one has made him very happy. It is quick and chops to whatever size he needs. Very fine and minced is easy and quick. Cleanup is a breeze too. Comes apart easily. Thank you, Zyliss, for a great product.
