Product Description

Tear at leafy greens no more! This traditionally tedious task becomes a delight with Zyliss' Fresh Cut Salad Knife. The lightweight knife features a long, angled blade with an evenly serrated cutting edge. Place your greens on a cutting board and cut. The clean cut allows the leaves to stay green longer rather than quick-browning like torn leaves. It’s also excellent with cakes, breads and brownies without leaving a trail of crumbs. The handle is long and the curved, ergonomic shape makes cutting easy—keeping your hands comfortable and dry. Crafted of durable white plastic. Safe on coated cookware and safe to wash in the dishwasher.

This is a good, inexpensive and versatile knife that can be used as a spreader and server. I stumbled upon it when I needed an inexpensive item to meet the free shipping requirement.

It's good for cutting soft & leafy vegetables (lettuce, tomato), things that can be cut with sawing motion. It will not cut hard vegetable (carrot) that requires chopping motion.

It's particularly handy for making sandwiches. I can use it to spread the condiment, then slice the tomato or sweet pepper, and cut the sandwich in half at the end with just one knife. It's also great for cake, breads, brownies, etc.

It washes well in the dishwasher. A great buy overall!

My husband loves to eat iceberg lettuce salads. I got tired of tearing the lettuce up, so I decided to try this. Not only was the knife bigger than expected, but it's very sturdy and sharp. The grip is also very good for the average cook, but not as good as the grip on the Oxo Good Grips Lettuce Knife.

My boyfriend hates the sound of metal on metal, so when I saw that this knife is recommended for cutting cakes and brownies, it had even more appeal. It cuts lettuce like it is supposed to and so far it does seem like my lettuce hasn't been browning as quickly. It's nice using a knife that won't cut my fingers off either!

This is my favorite kitchen tool. It chops salads into even pieces in seconds. Just make a few slices in one direction and then across in the other direction. If you really want small pieces like gourmet chopped salads, just continue.

I was surprised at the number of people who have no idea that the brown edges on cut lettuce are from the metal on the knife they use. (Supposedly, this is rust.) I have used a plastic lettuce knife before and just recently found this one. Great price. Works just like it should. Once you try this, you'll NEVER cut lettuce with anything metal again.

I like this product cause its easier to have small pieces of lettuce in your mouth than trying to eat big clumps.
You can cut the lettuce then wash it and put it in a salad spinner. Its so much easier to wash. Their is less waste when you cut it with a plastic knife cause the lettuce does not turn brown. I am very happy with it.

I buy a few of these at a time. They are great for lettuce, but I use mine more often for brownies and desserts. We attend quite a few auctions and always participate in the dessert auction. I use a plate I don't mind losing and include the "lettuce" knife with it. It is sharp, won't damage the plate or non-stick pans and cuts like a dream. Also, since it's so cheap, I don't mind giving it away with cakes and desserts. When using at home, I love the fact that it is dishwasher safe ( my husband sticks EVERYTHING in the dishwasher).
