Handy and versatile,

This is a good, inexpensive and versatile knife that can be used as a spreader and server. I stumbled upon it when I needed an inexpensive item to meet the free shipping requirement.
It's good for cutting soft & leafy vegetables (lettuce, tomato), things that can be cut with sawing motion. It will not cut hard vegetable (carrot) that requires chopping motion. It's particularly handy for making sandwiches. I can use it to spread the condiment, then slice the tomato or sweet pepper, and cut the sandwich in half at the end with just one knife. It's also great for cake, breads, brownies, etc. It washes well in the dishwasher. A great buy overall!

My husband loves to eat iceberg lettuce salads. I got tired of tearing the lettuce up, so I decided to try this. Not only was the knife bigger than expected, but it's very sturdy and sharp. The grip is also very good for the average cook, but not as good as the grip on the Oxo Good Grips Lettuce Knife.

Plastic knife.. who knew!,

My boyfriend hates the sound of metal on metal, so when I saw that this knife is recommended for cutting cakes and brownies, it had even more appeal. It cuts lettuce like it is supposed to and so far it does seem like my lettuce hasn't been browning as quickly. It's nice using a knife that won't cut my fingers off either!
