Does everything the big boys do and no power required!,
This review is from: Zyliss Mini Food Processor, White (Kitchen)
I bought this grater when I had an old food processor when all the attachments were broken and I needed finely chopped or grated nuts for my sweets. It is very easy and comfortable to use, thanks to the suction foot that is surprisingly strong for the small size. You just position the grater on a clean surface and turn the lever to block it, then you can choose the drum you need and place it in the grater, screw the handle on and get grating! There are three drums in the package: slicing, fine grating and coarse grating. You can slice cucumbers for a salad or zucchini for a quiche or anything you want. Or you can finely grate hard cheese like Parmesan, chocolate or nuts: I have used it a number of times for these tasks and I am really satisfied, nuts fine as snow and fluffy Parmesan; you will not touch the chocolate so it doesn't melt on your hands while you are grating. Or maybe you feel like zucchini cheddar waffles and you can coarsely grate both in no time. The clean up is really easy and quick, but I don't know whether the grater is dishwasher safe, so I always do it by hand.

Great for older hands,

I love this product. I have been losing strength in my hands, and all of my other graters were either too difficult to squeeze the handle that presses the food and turn the handle OR they were flimsy and resulted in too many lost fingernails (several near misses on losing skin too). This is just what I needed. It's easy to use and easy to clean. Great price, great product. I recommend this if you have weak hands, and/or long fingernails. If you have neither but know someone who loves to cook and would appreciate an easy to use, convenient to clean and well made gagdet, it would make a great gift.

Being a bachelor (again), I didn't need the huge food processor that I used to have. Still, I like to cook. Then for Christmas my parents gave me this handy little thing. The Zyliss Mini Food Processor is a convenient and, above all, efficient compact processor that I use just about every other day. It's easy to clean and, so far, pretty durable. It's one of the better products of its type that I have used.

Long sought walnut grater that works perfectly!,

I love to make (and eat) deserts that call for greated walnuts and occasionally haselnuts. Not chopped, and not creamed mind you, but a fluffy pile of fine grated nuts that doesn't feel greasy or soggy to add to deserts and cereal. I couldn't find a grater that would do this for a long time until finally, a friend of mine got this product for me. The finest grater barell is used for this, and if this gadget did this alone, it would still be more than worth it to me to pay much more for it then currently @19.99 price.
However, there are two other barrels that work wonderfully too. The larger grater is fantastic for carrots. I tried it with apples too, and it also works very well, but it is better with carrots. The white plastic is stained orange from carrots though, but this doesn't bother me since it works so incredibly great for grating them and I store the unit in the cupboard so I don't care how it looks like as long as it works well. The slicer barrel I have tried with potatoes and it produces wonderful thin slices for mousaka and scalloped potatoes. Due to the small size of this aparatus, the slices are not large, but again, this doesn't bother me personally at all, it still works perfectly for my purposes. To put this thing together, you need to insert a barell into the opening so that it's screw protrudes out on the other side of the wall; then screw the handle onto that screw in clockwise direction. This is effortless. Then with just a bit of water or wet finger wet the rubber bottom, place on the surface of your counter, and flip the little lever at the bottom down which hold the machine down by vacuum. This is exceedingly simple and holds it securely down without any problems. Then put a bowl or a plate below the opening. Put nuts or vegetables you will grate or slice at the top and hold them down with your hand while you turn the handle clockwise (I'm sure you will not allow your fingers to get too close to the grater!!). The handle doesn't require hardly any strength to turn, and the slicing/grating takes very little time - it's all very fast. To finish off the piece of vegetable or nuts, insert the top part to push them down. When done, flip back the lever at the bottom to release the machine from the tabletop, then with your finger or spatula scrape the bits from the inside of the barrel (it's not sharp inside so you will not hurt yourself). Then grip the inside of the barrel with your fingers while your thumb is gripping on the utside, and turn the handle counter-clockwise to unscrew the handle. If you didn't needlessly screw it on too tight to begin with, this should be excidingly simple too. There will be quite a bit of grinds/slices around the barrel too, so you will need to clean these up and put them into your bowl if you don't want to waste them. All the pieces of this gadget can be easily rinsed and washed by hand or dishwasher. I like that the whole thing takes up very little space. I am extremly satisfied with this product.

A waste of money,

This product is made in Germany but with the quality you'd expect of any Chinese made item. The box shows a picture of a tomato and a pear. They have to be kidding! This thing couldn't cut butter. Spend some extra dollars on something else and you won't be disappointed.
