4.0 out of 5 stars Comparison to other versions of Aden+Anais swaddling blankets
I purchased the Pinzon Baby swaddling blankets in Wild Thing. The patterns are adorable - very, very pale pastels - almost so pale that you can't see the patterns unless you're close to them. The colors in the prints are beige, pale celery, and light blue.

I purchased these during a lightning sale thinking it would be great to have some less expensive versions of the original blankets to send to day care. I am incredibly disappointed with these blankets. I absolutely LOVE the orignal Aden + Anais blankets and highly recommend them to everyone. They are wonderfully soft and cozy and their large size lets you use them for just about everything.

As for the Pinzon, the only thing good about them is the size. I keep washing them hoping they will get softer but they are still VERY rough. Even though they are less expensive than the original Aden + Anais, they are still fairly expensive as blankets go. Since you're spending that much to begin with I highly recommend spending a couple extra dollars and getting a much better product (Aden + Anais 100% Cotton Muslin Swaddle Wrap, Jungle Jam, 4 Pack).

4.0 out of 5 stars Comparison to other versions of Aden+Anais swaddling blankets, August 18, 2011

I purchased the Pinzon Baby swaddling blankets in Wild Thing. The patterns are adorable - very, very pale pastels - almost so pale that you can't see the patterns unless you're close to them. The colors in the prints are beige, pale celery, and light blue.

I collect Aden+Anais blankets, and can compare them to the A+A boutique line and Buy Buy Baby/Target lines:

*Nothing compares to the Aden+Anais boutique line (sold on A+A's site and Amazon) - they're 47"x47" with a soft, thick weave. They're a bit more expensive at $50 for four, but it's the best bang for your buck. They are unrivaled in softness and durability.

*The Pinzon Baby for A+A blankets are the large 47"x47" size, but are a thinner, more gauzy version of the originals. The material has a rougher texture than the boutique version. The tags differ as well, reading "Pinzon Baby by aden+anais" with Pinzon's website and branding information. $40 for four.

*The versions sold at Target/Buy Buy Baby are smaller, at 44"x44," and also made of the thinner cotton material. They retail around $35 for four.

I use Aden+Anais swaddling blankets for everything - swaddling, burp cloths, carseat blankets, tummy time, nursing covers, changing table covers, stroller covers. I have two of them in my diaper bag at all times. The lighter Pinzon Baby ones are great for summer, and really nice for nursing. I can drape a blanket over my baby and not worry about him getting too hot or being unable to breathe.

I would highly recommend these for summer, or if you're new to Aden+Anais and want to try a less expensive version to get your feet wet with this brand. But if you're used to the luxurious A+A boutique blankets, you may be disappointed with the Pinzon Baby version.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as good..., January 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: aden + anais 4 Pack Pinzon Baby Muslin Swaddle Blanket, Night Owl (Baby Product)
I had a set of aden & anais blankets and I wanted more, because I love them so much. I bought the "night owl" set and these are by far the cutest prints in my opinion. Unfortunately the Pinzon brand isn't as good as the original aden & anais blankets. The fabric isn't woven as tightly and it's a bit rough. These blankets are more gauzy and not in a good way. I've put my through the wash a few times now and when you compare them side by side with aden & anais, you can definitely tell the difference, which is a shame because these prints are so cute. I will still use them, and I've rated 4 stars because if you've never used an aden & anais blanket before, you will definitely like these. They're just slightly of a lesser quality, so don't expect the same exact product as aden & anais.

- These blankets are enormous. You could swaddle a viking with these. They are the 47 x 47 version, not the 44 x 44 version that you can get at Target.
- Thin and lightweight, so I feel ok with swaddling a baby that's already warmly dressed.
- Softened up nicely after the first wash, and I imagine they will continue to do so after subsequent washes

2.0 out of 5 stars Rough texture, September 26, 2011

This review is from: aden + anais 4 Pack Pinzon Baby Muslin Swaddle Blanket, Night Owl (Baby Product)
I have owned 9 other 'Aden & Anais' brand swaddle blanket/wraps. I am absolutely in love with them. They are soft, and soooooo useful in so many ways and they are my sons favorite. In fact he cannot sleep without one bunched up in his arms. So I saw the cute design on the 'Pinzon' type of swaddle blankets from 'A & A' and thought they would be the same quality. They are not any cheaper and in fact at the time of purchase were more expensive from what I could find. If the tag did not say 100% cotton, I would not believe it. It feels as if they are made with polyester and cotton blend. I have washed multi times and still not soft. My girlfriend is also a fan and she had ordered some as well and thought the same thing as myself. I would not order the 'Pinzon' brand and if I hadn't already thrown my packaging away - I would be returning them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love them x2, January 27, 2011

My older daughter received these blankets as a shower gift and loved them. Her twin boys are two and a half and they still love them, they take them to bed with them. Being grammy, I bought them for my youngest daughter's third baby that she had at the end of the year (2010) as she always liked them. I am also pleased with the way they hold up as well.

A must have! These are the best blankets for all babies! My son is 3 mos old today, and he just adores these blankies. In fact,he is laughing at the owls right now. These blankets are great. They are breathable, yet warm when swaddled. They are perfect for draping over the stroller to block out the sun, they get softer everytime you wash them, the patterns are bright and fun for baby, need I go on? I can't say enough about these blankets. Baby loves to suck on them and rub them on his cheek. They are the perfect texture. My sister-in-law is due in November, and I'm ordering some for her. You will not regret this purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars excellent material, good value, August 2, 2010
This review is from: aden + anais 4 Pack Pinzon Baby Muslin Swaddle Blanket, Night Owl (Baby Product)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Compared to some of the other "organic" and branded swaddle blankets, this 4-piece set is a good value - other brands go up to 75$ and you have cheaper varieties for around 20$ with 2 pieces. From a cost perspective, this product is comparable or better than most in similar categories.

I also agree with a reviewer who stated that any large blanket is sufficient for swaddling - so, from a functional standpoint, this doesn't really add that much value. However, with a smooth overall feel and a color scheme that looks not too cutesy (for my taste at least, this is a good value for a branded product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great swaddle blankets!, January 14, 2012

My baby was getting too big to use regular receiving blankets for swaddling. Not only that, but he would get hot in the flannel (even when just wearing a onesie). I ordered these blankets and they are perfect! They are very big but very light weight at the same time. They get softer and softer with each wash. Once he outgrows the swaddling phase, these blankets will be perfect for a light weight summertime blanket or stroller drape.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loooooove these, December 16, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These are my son's favorite. He is 2.5 months old and loves to be swaddled in them. they are thin and stretchy, so he doesn't get too hot and is able to move around still without coming unswaddled. I love the print on these as well, very boyish :-)
