4.0 out of 5 stars NOT TRUE TO SIZE
i bought this shoe for myself but was to small so i gave to my son. the shoes look great and he says they are very comfortable. the delivery was excellent. i would have given 5 stars but they fail to mention that the shoes are no true to size. if you order these get a whole size longer than your normal size.

Look elsewhere if your foot is narrow and you need a bit of stability. The shoes were too roomy in the forefoot until I replaced the laces with a set of Yankz. That made the fit good and very comfortable. The tongue is gusseted and noticeably keeps crap from getting in the shoe. I also thought that the upper kept out a reasonable amount of fine dust while remaining...

Look elsewhere if your foot is narrow and you need a bit of stability. The shoes were too roomy in the forefoot until I replaced the laces with a set of Yankz. That made the fit good and very comfortable. The tongue is gusseted and noticeably keeps crap from getting in the shoe. I also thought that the upper kept out a reasonable amount of fine dust while remaining breathable. The tread is sort of one-piece and grippy. It works well over rocky areas and prevents that stone bruise stuff. The shoes shed mud OK, not great, but OK. I really haven't seen any shoe magically 'shed' real mud.

The shoes have held up well except for the cushioning components. The uppers and tread are wearing well. After a 50K race the shoes were visibly tilted (collapsed) inward. I overpronate and prefer shoes with a small amount of medial post. These shoes are not a good choice for me as I now have a touch of posterior tibial tendonitis.

Pros: gusseted tongue, upper and tread wear, good rock protection from tread, fit afforded no incidence of blisters.
Cons: lack if mid-foot stability, too roomy for narrow feet, fit is loosey-goosey when wet

4.0 out of 5 stars Kanadia 2 Trail, January 22, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I previously owned the Kanadia Trail, so I decided to buy the new one since I could not find the older model any longer. Generally, I like this shoe. From my previous experience, It is made to last. I run on sandy trail, rocky, and paved road for months and it looks fine...It's very light and comfortable. Couple complains though, avoid wet hard surface, it would make it very slippery, avoid rain or water getting in this shoe can be stinky.

4.0 out of 5 stars Trail 2 "pounded", October 12, 2010
Over all design- Awsome (great trail design, decent materails)

Tread- Very Good (Agressive)

Support- Fair (to 185 lbs)

Sizing- Poor (1/2 to a full size smaller)

Durability- Good (6+ months)

Weight- Awsome (very light dry)

Padding- Very Good (minamal padding)

Value- Very Good ($54 range)

I have owned 6 pair of these shoes and use them for commercial use, that is every day over 60 miles a week in all weather and terrain. I am 6'2" 180lbs and the construction of this shoe does only a fair job of supporting me, if you are any heavier or you are doing very aggressive rocky terrain look elsware. I like the aggressive tread, the light weight (when dry, I don't like them wet they retain too much weight, though they breath well and can dry relitivly fast), the heal flair, the over all design and the price ( about $50). Wet slick rocks are still slick in these shoes the majority of the time but they do provide good traction and a low center of gravity for good terrain feel and stability. There is not alot of padding which I like and that is expected for trail shoes they do feel good to me on concrete and other road surfaces for semi-short distances.

I used to run with a heal strike in my running technique but I changed to running more on the balls of my feet which helped my shoes last longer befor I needed new ones. When I ran heel to toe or heal strike I was buying shoes more often because the heal pad would wear out fast and I would start to get all kinds of joint pain, leg pain ect. So now I rotate 4 pair and have been using them for . . . I don't know 8 months or so and doing just fine running with a more smooth gezell like stride with the my new running technique. So take note to your technique if you have a lot of pain or your shoes seem to be wearing out too fast. That being said the durability is fair with this model the first pair I think I retired after about 5 months but now I am in better shape so I am keeping them a little longer 6+mo.

My foot size is a 12.5 and the 13's just fit me with no room to grow and when they get wet I put a shoe strecher in them other wise it shrinks too much when drying and could hurt my toes.

1.0 out of 5 stars Weird sizing, July 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've been a size 12 in every shoe I've owned for the past 15+ years. I tried these on in 12's and my toe was about to pop through the front. So then I tried them in 12.5 and they fit just like the 12's. I then figured that 13's would be the way to go so I ordered a pair. With the 13's, I had about 3/4" of space in front of my toe and the sides of the shoe were too tight around the sides of my toes. I'm not sure what's up with these shoes or Adidas, but I gave up on both and am going with a pair of Asics.

Los Adidas Kanadia Trail 2 son unos zapatos de alto performance, comodos, ligeros, de buen ajuste en el puente. Si embargo debi pedir 1 talla + grande a lo usual para que me quedaran. Y tal cual, me quedaron justos!! :)

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice shoes, but they run small, July 12, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The style of the shoes is great. However, I ordered size 11.5, which I typically wear in other brands, and the shoes seem to be at least a 1/2 too small. I don't know if this is true for all Adidas shoes, but be careful when ordering and opt for a little bit bigger than you think you need.

5.0 out of 5 stars Watch for the Size, October 16, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I been using Amazon since 2000 and it never fails me exept this time. This shoes are good quality build but the sizing is wrong. I am size 11 so I order size 11. When it came (delivery was very fast) they were way too small for me more like size 10. So I returned back it to Amazon and was charge return shipping fee and Amazon is not willing to refund it. So I had to reorder them again but this time I selected size 12 and when it came it was perfect fit for me. Also this shoes design for narrow foot so be aware of that too. Otherwise this are good quality shoes. Make sure you select 1 size bigger than your actual size.

First the positives:

I love the look of this shoe. The color I bought (black/white/black silver) goes well with many different clothes and is very stylish. In addition, the side view of the "off road" tread looks very aggressive, like a pair of cleats or the top jaw of a predatory animal. They look so cool, in fact, that I'm going to keep them despite the negatives posted below.

Now for the negatives:

1) This is probably the narrowest shoe I've ever bought. This is actually not a negative for me, as I have narrow feet, but it could be surprising if you have normal to wide feet. If you've ever needed a wide-size shoe, look elsewhere. This shoe probably won't fit you.

2) The sizing runs so small that I can't run in the shoe I bought. I take a Nike or New Balance size 13, a Reef Sandals 12 and a Vans 12 so I ordered 13s and I can only wear them with the thinnest socks I own. None of my white athletic socks are comfortable with these shoes in the size that I would normally wear. I just "completed" my first run in these shoes and had to stop after 1.5 miles or so because my big toes were being smashed against the front of the shoe. If I had purchased a size 14, this probably wouldn't be a problem, but sizing is pretty much standard everywhere else and I shouldn't have to buy such a large size to get a good fit! This is particularly problematic for those of us who shop online a lot because we can't try the shoes on before we buy them. Buyer beware! You may want to find a store and try these on to determine fit and size before you buy them. Trust me on this. Adidas, you need more consistent sizing if you want repeat online customers.

All-in-all, this is a good shoe that looks great but is hampered by inaccurate sizing from the manufacturer. If sizing was accurate, this would be a five-star shoe. However, it's hard to give great or even good marks to a running shoe that is so inaccurately sized that I can't run in it with my normal size. I'll wear it with jeans and thin black socks and it'll look great, but it doesn't do the job I purchased it for. I suppose I could have returned them, but they're a little worn now and I can't get this color in a 14 on Amazon so I'll deal with it and either buy a different manufacturer's shoe or a huge size next time.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too small too tight, December 26, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Basically I buy adidas products and tend to love them this was not even close to the listed size and had to return it and there was nothing in a larger wider size. if you want it make sure you get some extra space. This one of those things about shoes I just do not understand, the product itself seemed to be of high quality and what i was looking for just too small
