ADDIDAS KANADIA TR (2009)---------------------------------------- A mild under-pronator at 5' 6", 125Ibs averaging 20 miles per week, I do mainly light running and plyometrics on flat terrain incorporating all surface types. I decided that I wanted to do alot more off-road so with my old road runners approaching retirement, my spec was a trail based shoe biased towards forefoot cushioning and on a poor man's budget. I opted for the Kanadia TRs over others in the same price range for their fit, stability and cushioning. My only dislike at the time was the outrageous colour scheme - I prefer discretion - but I stuck with my principles of purpose over aesthetic. By the way, I had to go one size up to get the best fit. 12 months and 900 miles later I grew to put up with the colours and even more the shoe. Here's my résumé. - Comfort: Run-in period was minimal as I was comfortable in them almost straight off the bat. The fit is generally good. Front foot fit could be slightly better (a bit too much slack) which could explain why I had a problem finding the right shoe size for fit. I have discovered a minor oddity in than I can feel the forefoot lugs after 45 minutes of running and always on the left foot. Perhaps I have a very minor gait or difference in leg length? I never had this before with my old runners.... - Grip: Bags of it. Terrific on soft loose and moist surfaces. A real blast for mud hounds. - Stability: Generally good but then I run on mostly flat terrain so not really well placed to comment on this. - Shock absorption: very good off-road and reasonably good on tarmac but then I'm a lightweight guy. - Out-sole wear: Wear is very good off road but I've been doing a bit more tarmac running of late and have noticed slightly more wear so either avoid prolonged road running with them or avoid the shoe if you do a good bit of road running. - Breath-ability: Pretty good. You can feel the draft wafting into the shoe once the feet start sweating - nice! Conclusion: A good shoe but not for long runs as comfort may become compromised. I've since fitted new inserts which have revitalised the comfort and fit of the shoe so I'm sure to squeeze at least another six months out of them.

This is a good purchase for the price that you pay. This is a very good shoe for those who run for recreation, and for those that run hard. The Kanadia TR Running Shoe is tough, and the red and black color combination hides dirt and cleans up nicely. Two things to look for on all TR shoes from Adidas are the toe and heal rubber tend to come loose after a bit of time. Overall, this shoe is very comfortable, light weight, very breathable, has a good tread pattern, and makes for an enjoyable run.

I bought these shoes for trail running and am very pleased with the quality, comfort, traction and most of all how light they are. Size is accurate, and a great fit.

These shoes are pretty light weight and the tread is pretty good, the toe box is a little narrow, but I tend to have slightly wide feet. If your feet are wider, you may want to go up half a size. The arch support isn't very tall. The tab on the back that helps you pull them on seems securely attached. A pretty good quality to cost ratio, definately a good value.

I do a lot of cross training. In one day I do some running, weight training, and plyometrics, with plenty of squats, lunges, and etc. Finding a shoe that felt good for all my workout was hard. I have narrow feet and these Kanadia II's fit great! Nice and snug, light, solid, and more flexible than some shoes I've tried. It seems like most Nike, and New Balance shoes I have tried tend to be too big in the toe box and my foot kind of slides around. But that's not the case with these, I really like em!! Considering how much more snug my foot feels in them I would take into consideration what most people say about buying a half size bigger, but for my foot my standard size of 9.5 works great!

These are an amazing trail running shoesThe last pair I had were Nike ZoomAir-Bowermans (Best TR sneakers ever encountered, but discontinued) These definitely filled my gap - On par with my first pair of TR shoes (AirMax Assails, discontinued) Very strong grip to the ground - love the obnoxious color pattern It is tight, stiff and a tad bit uncomfortable But this is trail - the support and stiffness is crucial to avoid a rolling ankle on bends Update: I have started using this along roads as well - as result of no more trail around me and giving up on my regular running shoes I had a pair of Pegasus's that plain failed me (very unfortunate) and a pair of Asics that didn't hold up overtime (I'll give Asics another shot in future) These shoes have now been well broken in and got a full feel for them. I just realized recently they are rather light (compared to Pegasus)- now I understand these "light-weight" shoes I got a pair of Nike Skylon 11s that I'm breaking in as Race Day Shoes But before I got hold of them - I only had these shoes available for a 4M Race They performed well, even with me running a faster than normal pace They kept me cool and my feet didn't hurt beyond normal post-run pains The outsole is holding up rather well with limited fade off from the outsole (Forefoot and outer half of heel most fading) The upper mesh is definitely durable - but if it get caught to wire (or something sharp) it'll eventually tear/fray I got a very small hole by fore foot - had to have been caught on wire fence sometime ago I bought 2x pairs of Kanadias (different colors) awaiting the unfaithful day my Slime Greens are put to rest. I originally gave it a 4/5 --> prolonged testing has changed my ratings to a 5/5

I like the shoes because they're light weight, but they are a little snug and do run small. I wear a 12 and they feel like 11-11.5

These shoes lasted me a couple of years of every day use. I just used them as everyday school shoes. I'm not a runner, so I can't comment on how they are for running (probably wouldn't last as long if I used them for running). But they hold up. They do, however, let in water very easy, as there are many patches of mesh on the top.

i have been using this shoe for almost one and a half year. I have to say that this shoe is perfect for running in the field. but be careful about the size you bought. normaly i wear 9,5 but in this shoe i'm wearing 11. I reccomend everyone having their exercise outside.
