5.0 out of 5 stars Great fit
The shoes at first, just like any pair of shoes, took some time to break in. After a few uses, I finally feel really comfortable using them and move around the court with a bit more speed because of these shoes. I hope they can keep up with the wear and tear I will be putting it through in the next two months +. Its expensive, but if you're a committed tennis player who...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good shoe, small comparable size
These shoes are a great platform for high performance tennis, BUT, make sure to buy a size bigger. Adidas sizing seems to be A LOT smaller than other tennis shoes I've had recently from Nike, Reebok and New Balance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding tennis shoes best for Advanced players, November 1, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Adidas Barricade has been long time in the market and has gained a solid reputation of being very good because they have great durability and feet support. But let's review main characteristics expected from these tennis shoes:

1. Comfort. UNANIMOUS opinion: These tennis shoes NEED a break in period that varies according user. Initially Barricade 6.0 feel very stiff, but as sneakers are wear for 2 - 6 weeks they become more flexible. So, don't let them fool you at the very first use, be patient and give these shoes a period of time to adapt. AFTER the break in period they become very comfortable. Rating: 4,3/5

2. Weight: Barricade 6.0 sneakers are heavy (15,8 oz.). Although Adidas has tried to lessen shoes weight, these feel heavy, even more for recreational players. Rating: 3/5
Warning: Not because several professional players use one specific tennis shoes reference/brand, means that it guarantees that them are the proper tennis shoes for you.

3. Stability: Superb, I think this is outstanding and justifies weight of these shoes. Rating: 4,6/5

4. Traction: Very good, although my opinion is that traction is just above the average of best tennis shoes in the market. Rating: 4,0 /5.

5. Durability: No doubt, long lasting tennis shoes. Probably you will get bored before them show any damage. They come with a 6 months outsole limited warranty. Rating: 5/5.

6. Ventilation: It is good for the shoe design. Not outstanding but you won't feel your feet hot. Rating: 3,9/5

7. Price: Above other similar options and of course you pay for the brand, Rating: 3,8/5

8. Appearance: Awesome. These sneakers are available for men, women and juniors in various colors. Besides, if you want yours customized visit "miadidas" web site and design them as you want. Rating 4,9 /5. You can find similar here in amazon: adidas Men's Barricade 6.0 Tennis Shoe

9. Sizes: I use 9,5 and these fit me ok, BUT beware with width because there are some complains and for players with width foot must test carefully.

I think these are amazing tennis shoes for the advanced, semipro or pro tennis player. Tennis instructors will love them because besides comfort, durability makes them a bargain.

I rate Barricade with 5 stars considering them outstanding for advanced players; for us, mortal recreational players, rating would be 4 stars because weight and initial break in make feet soar.

P.S: I am an intermediate-advanced tennis player (NTRP 4,0 - 4,5 level*); I have been playing tennis for 3 decades and besides I love this sport, I like technical aspects about racquets, strings, tennis shoes and tennis accessories. Nowadays I am playing 80% of my time on clay surface and 20% on hard courts. I play about 8 - 10 hours a week (2-3 hours x 3-4 times a week).

I just love Barricade tennis shoes. Since my first one, I never could stop buying the new ones. This tennis shoes is very beautiful and for tennis practice is almost perfect. At the beginning it's a little bit hard but on the third time I used it could see I made a very good choice again.

2.0 out of 5 stars Flawed shoe that will last longer than your ankles, January 10, 2012

This review is from: adidas Men's Barricade 6.0 Tennis Shoe (Apparel)
Two sprain ankles and a broken shoelace strap after 3 months I think I am done with Barricades 6.0. I have not had any problems with Barricades (I had 6 pairs over the years) and I can tell you that 6.0 is the most uncomfortable shoe I have owned up to this point. They are extremely stiff and sticky which is very dangerous combination. Save yourself an emergency visit and buy Barricades 7.0. I do love the way they look. :-)

4.0-4.5 NTRP player that plays 3x a week

PS Didn't Andy Murray sprained his ankle this year (2011) in Barricades 6.0, exactly...

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome shoes, November 4, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have used these shoes for over 3 months on hard court and I am very pleased.
Pros:
They offer good comfort, grip and good lateral support.
No wear so far and I played almost 5 days a week.
I don't feel the impact or the vibrations any more and I am more confident with my foot work.
Also, the reinforcement on the big toe.. helps with the toe dragging on some shots.
Cons: Not the best looking shoe. I thought the Barricade IV were good looking. But this will not affect the game, will it?
Other: I would advice players to choose the correct size.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for your heels, November 1, 2011
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I got these because I've got Achilles tendonitis and I'd read that they had good heel padding at the back of the shoe. Went to check a pair out at Sports Authority and they did feel significantly more cushioned than anything else. They were too expensive at SA. Got them on Amazon. I could do without the aluminum-color stripes. But it's a comfortable shoe, especially if you're having Achilles issues.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is simply the best tennis shoe I ever wore. It provides great support and cushioning for the heel and involves the foot as if you put it in marshmellow.
Very good turns and slides on clay.
Additionally, It has a great look (I bought the white / black)
