This review is from: adidas Men's Kanadia Trail Running Shoe (Apparel)
ADDIDAS KANADIA TR (2009)
----------------------------------------
A mild under-pronator at 5' 6", 125Ibs averaging 20 miles per week, I do mainly light running and plyometrics on flat terrain incorporating all surface types. I decided that I wanted to do alot more off-road so with my old road runners approaching retirement, my spec was a trail based shoe biased towards forefoot cushioning and on a poor man's budget. I opted for the Kanadia TRs over others in the same price range for their fit, stability and cushioning. My only dislike at the time was the outrageous colour scheme - I prefer discretion - but I stuck with my principles of purpose over aesthetic. By the way, I had to go one size up to get the best fit.
12 months and 900 miles later I grew to put up with the colours and even more the shoe. Here's my résumé.
- Comfort: Run-in period was minimal as I was comfortable in them almost straight off the bat. The fit is generally good. Front foot fit could be slightly better (a bit too much slack) which could explain why I had a problem finding the right shoe size for fit. I have discovered a minor oddity in than I can feel the forefoot lugs after 45 minutes of running and always on the left foot. Perhaps I have a very minor gait or difference in leg length? I never had this before with my old runners....
- Grip: Bags of it. Terrific on soft loose and moist surfaces. A real blast for mud hounds.
- Stability: Generally good but then I run on mostly flat terrain so not really well placed to comment on this.
- Shock absorption: very good off-road and reasonably good on tarmac but then I'm a lightweight guy.
- Out-sole wear: Wear is very good off road but I've been doing a bit more tarmac running of late and have noticed slightly more wear so either avoid prolonged road running with them or avoid the shoe if you do a good bit of road running.
- Breath-ability: Pretty good. You can feel the draft wafting into the shoe once the feet start sweating - nice!
Conclusion: A good shoe but not for long runs as comfort may become compromised. I've since fitted new inserts which have revitalised the comfort and fit of the shoe so I'm sure to squeeze at least another six months out of them.

Good shoe for the price., June 15, 2009
This is a good purchase for the price that you pay. This is a very good shoe for those who run for recreation, and for those that run hard. The Kanadia TR Running Shoe is tough, and the red and black color combination hides dirt and cleans up nicely. Two things to look for on all TR shoes from Adidas are the toe and heal rubber tend to come loose after a bit of time. Overall, this shoe is very comfortable, light weight, very breathable, has a good tread pattern, and makes for an enjoyable run.

MY ADIDAS!, November 17, 2008
Very well made shoes. I was surprised how comfy they are. I do recommend to order a 1/2 size larger they do run small. I bought them for the working out @ the gym only but, there so lite and comfy yet sturdy feeling I feel that I'm ready to go. I've been wearing them for every day use.
